I notice that there is a 50% throttle at Pt 1~2 for idle-1. What is that for?
basically idle 1 is for sport / outdoor flying. i usually flip to idle 1 when it gets windy so that at the bottom end of the pitch curve where you have negative pitch, you still have 50% throttle to keep your bird going. i've just set it to 60% btw. so it's now Thr = 60% 65% 50% 75% 100% for idle 1.
this also means that your throttle is always running at all points of your stick. you don't want your bird to have zero throttle while flying. in that case it would be falling by gravity and that's bad. when falling by gravity, esp for small birds with less blade inertia, you will loose headspeed and thus lack tail control.
yup lastly don't take all my words for it cos i fly small electrics. the engine mechanisms might be different and wrong settings might just cause it to die in flight.
