Can't you see that the whole situation has turned into and event merely driven by economics.
Sure there'll be plenty ep helis to come. Purpose? To grab market share and inevitably flood the market. And prices, one way down.

Surely that is how the heli manufacturers operate, for that matter, that is how the WORLD OPERATEs ! ....it's a simple supply and demand thingy !

But ask yourself this ..... where's the innovation. If you asked me, I'm not going to buy whatever that's coming out. Would you?
With the latest that's on the market now, are you impressed?
I'm not. Technically, the makers have exhausted the brains.
I'm only trying to help by offering some suggestions.

I wish I think like you, then I would'nt be buying a new heli EVERY MONTH ! GOD ! the amount of money I would have saved !

Goodness, if you only recall the dark days of Graupner!

If you were an intelligent enthusiast, you would probably look for
a creation that's got something special worth paying for.

    Make sense so far?

So to be intelligent, I have to get excited over a "normal heli" with a small nitro powerplant grafted to it and the manufacturer says "This is a SPECIAL innovation 15 size nitro heli !" ......doesn't matter that it flies as if it's underpowered

In that case, I rather be a dumb enthusiast with a "un-innovative" EP heli which FLIES VERY WELL !

The earlier Trex nitro modification kit was based on V1.
    The workmanship was horrific!
Align, with all the various parts offered, should now offer a more refined version.
After all, enjoying a hi-performance hobby also means appreciating its refinement.
Would you fly something or for that matter 'anything' that's mediocre?

I do agree with you that there are some really bad stuffs out there, but what do you expect for the money you pay for it ?
Coming back to Align, if the Trex 450XL SE version with a Heliup CF frame doesn't qualify as "refined" .....I sure would like to hear your idea of a refined version ?

    No offense intended.

    Happy flying.
No worries, none taken ! ....It is good to be able to debate on differing viewpoints ....likewise, no offense intended by me in my debating posture
Seriously running out of ...Storage space !

      Improvement vs Innovation

What kind of innovation u r looking for??? There r two, three, four, five, six bladed helis out there on sale. Even the chinook design is out there for sale.

Everyone is moving towards electric powered, they r the future and more n more countries r coming out with better batteries to suit our needs. Nitro/gasoline is polluting our environment so most companies r diverting their resources.

Overall, most ppl will not pay for an expensive heli. Only those really into it will spend. That is how a company survive, built something for the mass market, give what the consumer desires.

      Heh...h.h.h hehh

We're talking at mini heli level lah bro. Sure, there are multi -bladed configurations. For regular size helis that is. Any for mini helis?

Ok. Your points are valid. Insofar as pleasing the mass and commercialism are concerned.

My point is, if F1 has a score card for contructor's merit points based purely on car construction why not helis (at a hobby level that is)?
Purely on a discerning standpoint, when a heli that's got the 'X factor(s)' and appeals to the serious enthusiasts, we'll know it. Commercialism and herd instinct aside, wouldn't you agree?

When you decide to buy a heli, wouldn't you consider; the way the motor is mounted, belt or shaft drive, single or coupled gear, pitch arm or ccpm, 400 or 450 or 500 size, etc..?
I'm sure along these lines, you'll have your preferences, right?

        Making Milestones for Mini Helis

        Hey guys,

        Appreciate a good discussion man!

Maybe if we could see an MD 900 (rotorless tail) or EC 135 (Fenestron tail)
for mini helis, I would be damn impressed!
(Hirobo has got the nitro EC 135)

But of course foreseeably there will be teething problems for the first few batches. As always!! Heh h..h..hehhh.

          (Commercially)
The first heli that I can quickly think off will be Hornet 3 bladed. Heck even Pixie (can ask JYHeli) also have 3 bladed head.
There is one more 4 bladed head... I can't remember the name of that heli. I think it is around Zap400 size.
          Tandem => Hornet CH-46

          (Home Made)
          Alot!

Fanestron tail for TRex size heh?

EDIT: Oh Adrianli... don't forget 7 bladed head as well.

For TRex size multibladed head, there is one commercial version from "Bricobrac" in France. It is called "E-Flex"
