    Experienced Pilot Help Needed. Urgent

    Just converted. Set up as follows.
    1)Main motor- humble bee
    2)Tail motor - from dragonfly direct drive
    3)GWS PHA-01
    4)Futaba 6CH rx

    Now, the problem:
    1)My throttle stick has to be at centre before the main rotor starts. Before conversion, not like dat. Why?
    2)When both motor running, I try to control rudder to face the heli in tail in position, both the motor will stop turning. But the moment I release rudder, it starts again. Why?
    3)Heli piroutte on the ground like crazy. When I try to stop the piroutting, no.2 problem happens.
    Had adjusted the mixer gain and gyro gain as per GWS instruction from the Net. But Problems still exist.
    Any solution guys? Thank you. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    To be precise, when I throttle up, the motor will only starts rotating at mid-point of the Tx stick. When I go further, and try to stabilise the rudder, especially flicking the stick to the right, both motor stops.
    Anyone got any idea what is wrong? Thank you.

      from what you describe, the battery possibly cannot supply enough current anymore. as for the throttle, check if the throttle trim is correct. if its at high, it won't start till half stick.

      check the direction of the gyro, such that when you move it by hand, the tail prop moves to counter the movement. also, let the gyro fully intialise after plugging in the batt, which is about 5sex after plugging in. not sure about the model, but the gws one i used to have blinked when i plugged the batt in. leave it until it shows a steady green light.

        I'm using 2cell Lipo 7.4V 1200mah. Throttle trim is at the lowest...in fact, even at centre , still the motor only starts when the stick is at centre and above...

          Ares, try this mod to help improve the PHA-01 performance..

          the PHA-01 had some issues that were voiced out frequently
          on the foreign forums..
          It seems to keep popping up that made me noticed it..
          That's y i dun really encourage the use of this module..

          Simple cure for PHA-01 gyro overheating

          First step to getting it to work properly!

              But I will still or mmight be going to the air funnel route if I dun sell it. No harm keeping the gyro cooler right

                The air funnel is not really needed, juz cut the two holes..
                one on top and one below the pha 01..
                that will be sufficient for airflow to cool the board..

                Do this cutting mod whether u sell or not..
                As it will help prolong the life of ur pha-01..
                Anyway, i dun think the buyer will mind this mod at all!
                Save him the trouble of cutting himself.. heh..
