Beginner Helicopter

Hi newbie here, would like to take up hobby of flying helis. Do you guys have any recommendations on a beginner helicopter ?

you can shop around, like Sky hobbies where they have afew heli for beginner with price is good. But shop around to see they meet your bugets.

hmm i would recommend you to start with a 4ch single rotor as the lama would not teach you how to hover a heli. the next time you upgrade to something like the honeybee you will have to re-learn your skills.

Actually if you have the budget can just go direct to nitro or trex (for portability) I feel... I see my fren with totally no prior experience manage to hover the raptor (nitro) on his 1st try, subsequently no problems with the trex either.

Either one would be able to grow in sync with your skill from beginner till wherever u decide to stop... and its a one off investment which can last for a long time.

i realised i learnt by the damn hard route..

but thinking back again, not knowing if i will go far in this hobby, i would still want to start cheap..but that's me..some newbies will still start with nitros..

Heh, It's always easier on hindsight,

On one hand, I was thankful the HB was cheap as I gave up on it after a few months.

But on the other, I kinda regret not being willing to spend the money then to start on something more stable (Not like I really have the $$ to spend ), maybe if I was able to fly more instead of mopping the floor with it and crashing, I would have continued flying heli today....well, at least I'm back to playing with a lama for quick fixes when I feel like destressing

heh..now that you're older and wiser (no offense)..ahem...you can always come back to flying a proper heli..

None taken . Let me brush up my skills in the meantime on the lamy , prob will come back to helis when I start work next year if I can spare the cash

A fixed pitch single rotor heli like the Honeybee FP will be the minimum. Twin rotors are more like toys. It doesn't prepare you at all for true rc heli handling. A sim offers you more.
