Let me start by saying i have zero experience in CCPM heli although i can fly a vortex and lama pretty well. I placed an order for this heli from HK on wednesday afternoon and it arrives in Singapore on Friday afternoon (suprisingly fast). I paid a total of $280 including shipping.
Upon opening the box, i could see that the helicopter is 90% assembled and i'm extremely pleased with the quality of the product. The motor is rated 4200Kv and it comes with 4 servos with links all joined. The gyro is from esky. The rotor is driven by a belt. The only bad thing about this heli is the main blade screw and nut which no matter how i tighten, cannot hold the blade tight.
As this is a 90% ARTF heli, all you need is to plug in your receiver, battery and attached the skid. The battery compartment fits my TP 2100mah battery nicely! i took less than 30 minutes to get this beauty up.
Unfortunately the manual sucks. There is nothing written on configuring the helicopter and i'm really stuck!
So i decided to bring this heli to the field for help and luckily, thanks to Kelvin who made an extraordinary effort to help me to configure this heli on my Optic 6 transmitter.
The ARTF esky heli out from the box needs to be trimmed before it can fly. Gyro needs to be tweaked, servos mechanically adjusted and swashplate programming in transmitter. The swashplate was not level when the transmitter and heli were turn on for the first time. Some servos also need to be reversed etc
How did the bird perfomed? Well, kelvin tested the heli after configuring the heli. This Heli performs incredibly well and is rock stable during hover with hands off the transmitter. After seeing, i believe my money is well spent and i am confident this helicopter can do even better in time to come (off course with more practice)
