Trex-Trex-Trex
Hi black_dice,
Most season flyers I have met who have been on this hobby long enough to know the RC heli "in-side-out" would highly recommend the Trex 450XL.
I personally think that Trex is a great way to fly.

It depends on how precise the heli interpret the inputs from the pilot. Smooth linkage movement, precise movement, amount of free play, etc....All these add to the cost of the mechanics put into the heli....I have seen Walkera performing tricks....If movements are not precise and pilot able to correct it, it makes it a good heli too....However, some movements depends on external devices, eg. Gyro.....A good Gyro holds the tail well......Chai

Walkera heli are like those product assembled behind those backlane slog shop , if you are lucky , you get a jewel otherwise and most of the time you will get junk. The fact is that they are more concern about the quantity they produce per month. Well , if you are already an experience pilot , then you wont face problem , you can easily turn junk into a workable flying heli ... and that's where I am. Trex sold in unassembled form (not fair to compare to those rtf walkera) and also it does not come rtf with radio and other electric , therefore how good the heli end up will depend on your equipments you use , usually most pilot use the best money can effort. If you are just starting out , I advise you to get the walkera #4 (HB fp clone but 50% cheaper) to train your flying skill and heli repairing. Those #36 / 60 no doubt they are more stable due to the higher headspeed and mass they will cost more if you crash and they do have thier design flaw as well. And finally , it is only logical to compare Trex to those unassembled heli like aplus400 or SJM and etc.

For what its worth, the Walkera is great bang for the buck......cheap n not so bad/good. I have the Walkera 4 FP and its great fun while it worked. It came with simulator software (Truflight2.0) n cable so you can train abit on comp b4 trying for real. I got it online for abt SGD200 with delivery n extra battery.
But spares is a problem and its quality is so so at best. But for a cheap intro, its hard to beat. The blades are tough and dont break easily.
Having said all this, i have a Trex 450XL on order....... HAHAHAHHHHA

I flew walkera heli before and i can say it did flew well except that parts may not be available easily and you will end up using compatible parts which in the end will cost the same as getting a trex kits.
When i flew Trex XL, I felt it is more stable & easier to control then walkera heli. Jus my own opinion. I did saw someone flew walkera with no problem also.Further more, parts are available locally.

You do not need to go for Electron 6. Some even encounter problem using Electron 6. My electron 6 fail on me before.
There are alternate model by Hitec that I feel better than Electron 6 and yet cheaper:
Hitec Dual Conv, 8Channels: HFD-08RO
S$ 62.20
