    Mini Nitro Heli?

Everyone is trying to convert a nitro heli to electric....Just wondering if someone had done it the other way around ???

    Maybe a Zoom400 or Eco8, with a .12size engine???

    9V,
I've seen a nitro converted Eco 8 on Ebay before... Converted by a German. But lost the link. Wouldn't be powerful but i think it's damn efficient.... And currently someone on RCgroups is trying to convert his Eolo.

This thought just came across when I was heading home in a bus....coz I had a .15 car engine lying around......would be cool to have sometime so small that flies and is freaking noisy...

                Looks like a 30 size.....I think it's a bit overkill...
Maybe a .21 would be good...He had actually cut off the first half of the frame, relocated his servos.....very interesting....I wonder if the fragile plastic gear will rip out fast...

I did have such idea/thinking before but do not have nitro engine to play with.

U can start it and let us know how it goes.

I dun have a good frame to play around with leh....
See how lar...maybe if I decided to keep my Eco8 and go for the tuning parts, (ie alu side frames, etc...) then I'd have extra plastic parts to fiddle around with...

car engine a bit difficult leh, especially if your engine has the sliding carb, somemore must run at high rpm all the time, a bit siong for engine...not a good idea...but imagine, the power of a .15 car with a good pipe should be more than a .32sxh, all in a mini heli....

yeah....and 10% nitro is probably enuff for a .12/.15 engine...

when i used to have a feda i wanted to try it with those small control line engines that run at super high rpm. but after considering the weight of the engine, fuel and extra servo, the heli would need to be bigger and the frames...you'd need something super light and super duper uper strong...something even carbon can't provide.

Feda cannot lar.....all plasticy parts that looks like too high a RPM will rip out type...will be too dangerous...Moreover feda is seperate tail control....how to mix?

At least a Zoom or the new electric rappy lookalike...

i doubt even those can. nitro engine needs frames not easily affected by engine heat and vibration. i feel that fitting a nitro in a t-rex or zoom also not enough cos you'll end up with a overweight heli that has too high a disk loading to fly well.
