When I bought my first heli (Trex SE) 3 months ago, I chose GY240 ($185) over GY401 ($250) because I had already burst my plan budget. I found out later that the GY240 does not allow a high yaw rate control and GY401 does not have this problem (through forum discussions). I strongly suggest putting in the extra $65 to get the GY401.
GY401 with HDS-877 Digital servo or HS81. More $$ then go for S9650.

If you can put in the slightly extra money for a much better gyro, which allows you to enjoy higher performance, greater control, increased authority, please get the GY401. It will allow you to achieve much more in future and will serve you a longer time as your skills progress along.
