    Strange occurence on Trex

Just set up my Trex 450XL with the Optic 6 (35Mhz), Electon 6, Gyro 401 and Quark 33A. Everything was fine and while doing my pitch check the Trex suddenly experience irractic servo moverment on all servo followed by the motor spin up slightly. The Throttle "lock" was all the time switched "on" and wonder how the motor could suddently spin up.

Lucky I had the pinion removed for safty else I may have to pick up my head on the floor.

Anyone experience such interference? What should I do? Thanks...for help.

    Please advise.....

Thanks for responding. Both Trex and Tx are just within 12 inch from the computer (with LCD monitor). Could this be the reason?

This actually happend twice and at the same location with the computer on.

        Trex Interference

Oop! forgot to mention that there was a fluorescent tube lighting on (study lamp) just about 3 meter away from Trex.

Question: With the Tx on throttle lock, can such interference can spin up the motor?

Yes, it can happen. Unless the RX is connected by wire to the TX.

Or your TX antenna or RX wire has touched some metal or carbon parts by accident which causes the glitches.

Last time this happens to me, the RX wire touches the TX antenna and the rotor blade spin. It chops off the last section of the TX antenna.

                Trex Interference

Some photo showing wiring layout of my Trex.

I think it maybe interference from my PC?? or fluorescent lighting as mentioned by AceViperX.

                Comments are welcomed.

Esc and RX too close each other. I have also quark 33A and Electron 6. And i used to have them positioned like you have them now. Caused glitches on the groud and in the air. My esc is now in front and no glitches.

Electron 6 is known to take glitches very easily so finding a good position to all electronics is very important. Meaning try to separate Rx from other elctronics as far as possible.

Ya man... they are literally back to back la...... too close for comfort.
Oh another thing. Rotate your Aileron and Pitch servo so that the output shaft is lower. If not you might find that the servo horns can interfere with the canopy.

                      Rx or ESC position

                      Thanks tau0

Could you show me a photo of your arrangement if it is not too much trouble. Infront mean near the canopy front? If so, then I may have to make a small bracket to sit either the ESC or Rx infront of the servo bracket? Which is better to relocate? the Rx or ESC. I read that most crashes occur head down which was why I avoided putting them it front. But glitches is definately worst.

                      Please advise thanks!

                          Modified canopy mounting

                          Thanks AceViperX,

I have tried that last nite but it reduces the pitch range quite alot. So, I tried a different solution.

                          1) I heat up part of the canopy to reshape it alittle (may not be necesssary)
                          2) I raise the overall canopy mounting position by adding a new battery bracket (see photo, bracket in white). Then I slot the canopy between the new and the existing battery bracket. This will raise the overall canopy high and solve the problem.

Please refer to photo and feel free to advise.

Not sure where you actually mean. Do you mean next to the motor on its right, left, front, rear (with heli facing you) or below tug under the heli

I have my esc under battery tray. Move your esc infront and leave rx where it is. That way all electronics which cause glitching are infront and rx back.

I would not worry too much about breaking esc infront. If you are able to break it by crashing there is quite a lot other damages too.
