Is my Trex Tail Symptom normal ???

    Hi All,

Just switched from HoneyBee to Trex CDE few months ago..

I realised that when I adjusted the tail servo correctly for let's say
my bigger battery (2100mAh) when I change to my smaller battery (1600mAh)
it seems like the adjustments are out slighty. Is it normal ?

    oh yes.. one more,

After adjustment of the tail servo, when I throttle up, it seems like
the tail always tends to sway, is that also normal also ?

    Thx for any advise given.

    Hi,
having the same problem, tail holding perfectly, no wagging but when trottle up tail goes a bit on the right.
Check belt tension, push rod.....everything seems to be ok.....
Will adjust my pitch and will see how its respond....

    Will let u know.

    Cheers

i have 2 lipos for my rex 2100mah and 1800mah both have no problems watsover with the tail as i'am using HH mode, but i experience your problem when i fly my HB, e.g. i have 2 NI-MH batts... 650mah and 800mah.... when i use the 800mah batt the tail trimming gets out ... i concluded that when you use batts of different capacities, the trimming's might differ slightly..

I think it is pretty normal for the the tail to sway to the right when you suddenly increase the throttle(for anti-clockwise head rotor rotation it'll sway to the other side ) . Most of the time, increasing the rpm combined with fine adjustment to the gyro sense will help the tail rotor to re-act faster to compensation.

I don't know about diff. capacity batt. used would affect the tail hold, but I would think its the different weight distribution of the two diff. sized batt. that affect also the cyclic input needed to compensate that affectthe tail as well, since our heli turns in all axis' simultaneously. Also, if the current suplied by the 2 batts. are different, that will definitely affect the power output, and hence; affect the tail again!
