4 motor heli or flying car

hey guys.

im in Australia and we have this international bacalaureate personal project and i chose to design a flying car and build a flying model of it.
it will be based on the draganflyer model. would a 9c futaba radio have programming capablities for a 4 motor model?

Yeh thanks Doug. I remeber you from the singapore aussie school thanks ill email you or something. but how would you program an RC transmitter.Is it something like lego Mind storms.

no it would be rather difficult you have to isolate what you want each control to do and then match it up with the programing function on the TX remember the tx is still a aircraft TX not a car TX

I wont be building the Model yet because im going to design the full size model on autodesk inventor(cad) then build the scale. but the controls will be basically the same as the Dragan flyer. Do you know the Basics to programing a 9 cap? i dont know if this is stupid but how would i put gyros in to stabalise the model because wouldnt the mixing stuff the out puts of the gyro?
any way ive got a year and a half to complete this project so thanks heaps.

ok I know the 9chp a a bit ther are plenty of guys here that know more and can help where possible.

from just thinking about it if you use 2 gyros pref HH type conected to an 2 ESC to control pitch and roll and all four hooked up to an ESC each. the using the programing and the mixing or prog mixing then you should be able to control it using the forwad and back

couldnt i use one of those copilots instead of gyros or does that control altitude as well.

i guess you could hook it up with 4servo 90deg CCPM then instead of hooking up to servos use ESCs?

thats what im thinking of for the full scale version but to make it lighter im gonna use escs and programming.

Doug what do you mean 2 gyros with 2 escs? could i please get your email so i can email you a digram i quickly drawed up to show what i think the basic setup is.
will i need 6 escs in total?

no just 4 emails ........... 2 attached to the gyro and two just to the motors linked through to the throttle ( with the tohers linked through to the throttle as well
