    I'm not into nitro heli here but can offer some engineering knowledge on engines here. I've been working with marine engines for close to 10 years already.

    For engines to die off suddenly, there r few possibilities :

    1) Fuel, fuel starvation.
    2) Air, air starvation.
    3) Lub oil, no lubrication on moving parts. But I dont see this being implicated on small little engines used in R/C.
    4) Overheat of engine.
    5) Mechanical failure of internal parts of engine.
    6) Failure of ignition source.

    These r juz some basic engine knowledge.
