who's flown the hatori 522/521 already?

SHS has them in stock already. So has managed to get some time on these mufflers? They're supposedly as powerful as the mp2 with a broad power band right? Its priced at $131 and i think i might be getting it!

I saw it at SHS, it is really LONG for a 50 size.
But I couldn't find any 522, only saw the 521.

522/521 are 3D pipes from Hatori. It is quieter and power like MP2.

does it cause the engine to drink a lot more like the mp2?

just got the 522. The paper that came with it states that it is for os50 and ys50. Suppose to increase torque between 13000rpm to 17000rpm. Beyond 17000rpm, it behaves like a normal muffler. Maybe this muffler might be more suitable for f3c style aerobatics than all out extreme 3d? Planning to run 1950 headspeed on my r50.

                  R50 loves 1950rpm

                  OS50/hyper optimum operation's at 17000 rpm...

                  17000 / 8.5 = 2000

                  should be ok around 1900 - 2000

Calvin...try and let us know if it's good...looks interesting to me

Then again....the most important thing is still throttle/colelctive management

physically wise, it is not much different from the hat 546(compared with bran's 546 side by side), just a bit longer. Power wise can't really give much comment coz you know hor my skill limited lah. But then it is really a lot better than the tt muffler. Sound is very different from the tt one piece, especially at idle. Running 1900+ rpm with tj pro and a bit rich(i.e. back plate can hold there forever after landing, but I am already at only 1.1 turn out after leaning it by almost half a turn yesterday). Getting 10.5mins per flight this morning compared to the 9.5min yesterday, so this muffler doesn't drink more than the tt one piece.

Ok, so here is how it does in flight vs a stock tt one piece. It allows the engine to hold rpm very well in flight, especially when under load. Loops are now super easy, in the past, I had to get enough forward speed to push it through the top to form the O shape, now anyhow pull also can get a nice O shape. Continous flip hold rpm very well also and even with full pitch and cyclic also no hint of bogging like it used to be. Stall turn can go up higher in the vertical part(wonder why also). Even if accidentally pull to much load and engine change sound a bit, it recovers super fast. Tic-toc still cannot do, maybe engine still rich, maybe my fingers also no skill. But then I am thinking it is cause I don't have enough negative pitch cause negative climb out seems a bit sluggish. Also I might be pushing the rpm to around 2000 to try to get more out of the engine.

HOWEVER, I find that my heli top speed is actually slower and around 85% on the throttle stick and 100% on the throttle stick don't make any difference in climb or speed, how come har?
