Yes, I believe an autopilot was being used. In the video, the glider flew in a rocking motion, twisting and rolling as the autopilot tried to correct course I think, especially at 52:33. The helicopter pilot also commented about the pitching characteristics of the glider.

My interesting question would be: Is it possible to program the glider so that at least it flies smoothly? If so, it would definitely be alot more efficient and have a longer range...
