    My new 2m glider

I was in Shanghai in Sept and pickup this glider from a local hobby shop. I have not seen this glider elsewhere before and decide to give it a try.
It is a 2m R,E,A control glider. The fuselage is glassed and the wings are balsa built-up. It has a single piece horizontal stabilizer which pivot as an elevator.

The assembly was fairly easy, it took about 3-4 hours in total, to complete. I mainly do some bits and pieces whenever I have time in the evening to assemble it together. I need to get some fishing weighs for the nose to balance the glider to fly it. Hoping to maiden it in the next few days

      D-day!

Got some fishing weights and managed to squeeze a bunch of the different sized weights with blue tack into the nose of the fuselage.
Today, it was raining in the earlier part of the afternoon. The rain stopped and I went down to BR to maiden the new glider. When I reached the bottom of the slope, rain came pouring down and I saw the glider folks all running down the slope with their gliders. We proceeded to the coffee shop to wait out the rain. After about 15mins, the rain stopped again and I went up the slope to check for favorable wind condition. Gentle cold wind, feels ok. I rigged up the glider and decide to maiden it.
Dennis helped to launch the glider into the wind with a light toss. The glider floated and climbed in the light wind. I had to apply about 5 clicks up, the nose was heavy. There was no other trimming for the rest of the controls.
The glider flew with good authority and managed to glide and climb in light wind condition. The turn was steady, with rudder input, there was little drop in altitude during the turn.
After getting a feel of the controls, I decide to land to remove some weights from the nose. The landing took about 3 attempts, as the glider just like to float and loose little height. Finally, I flew it below the tree line and pushed a bit down elevator after turning the glider. It landed just infront of the slope smoothly. I could have flown it more, but it was drizzling.
I will be back at BR in the next few days, hopefully, the weather is good.

Thanks to Dennis for on-the-fly instructions and guidance during the maiden. Every time during a maiden, I may not rid the butterflies from my stomach. With support from other experienced fliers, it really made the stomach stronger.
