    RC Monster truckin' in Singapore

I think that WTB T-Maxx thread is getting way off topic.

So here's to start some new threads in the ever quiet Car/Truck section of the forum.

Mad Armour, why not you invite your friends who are in the RCTech over here to talk about MTs?

Nope...never tried buggy except for a very old Tamiya Grasshopper II that I used to own..

Was in to road cars, but never competitively, and now to MTs. I think they're the ultimate in RC Cars....

Runs virtually on any type of surface.....except water of course...
You don't need a dedicated track to play.

BTW, can the buggys run smoothly on the cow-grass? Most of
the empty spaces in SGP are in cowgrass. I think only the MTs can run on them without a hitch.

Buggy's fast! Different ball game. King of dirt.
For some people it's important to show what they have, for others it's sufficient to know that they have it.

Actually beside size of wheels, and being a 4WD, buggies are not too much diff from monster trucks right?

I heard that a OFNA Dominator can be modded into a buggy as well.
But I also heard that the Dominator's suspension are not 'monster-truck-standard'. So how do you fully categorise a RC chassis/setup to be a true-blue MT or buggy?

I don't think there's such thing as a definitive MT. One constant - BIG wheels!

Dominator is a 'truggy', meaning it's chassis is derived from a buggy. Similar MT's are Thunder Tiger EK-4.

Advantages of a buggy chassis is obviously in the handling department. What it gains in handling, it loses in crawling ability.

Over rough terrains, it's low ground clearence loses to Savage, T-Maxx and Mad Force.

In all sense, Dominator is also a MT. Dominator is a nice MT to play. Corners really well and pretty hard to flip over due to it's low CG.

not really lah, mine is not kanai edition one...me still poor student...IMHO, if want road car should juz go for this road cars using sponge tyres...a buggy with road tyre really not that much grip...but on sand and grass, buggy is king

Kyosho Buggies is creme-de-la-creme of buggies man. Doesn't matter if it's Kanai or not.

Apparently parts is a bit difficult to get nowadays.

Hard to flip? I always flipped mine after making corner runs at rather high speed...

BTW, i dunno how people rave about wheelie-ing the Dominator...I just couldn't get mine to do that....Gave up after a while...
