    Dyeing wheels

Anybody tried that? I failed miserably.

Used Dylon. Maybe I used it wrongly. My white wheels stayed pure white.

Some websites recommend a dye brand called RIT.

And there I was having such hopes....

        dying with dylon

        hiya Nightbreed,
i've successfully dyed with Dylon before.
i have an associated B4 buggy and i didn't like the white rims, so i bought a pot of bright pink Dylon and turned them pink. but i soaked them too long and it turned out just a shade darker then i wanted.
you have to make sure your dye stays hot. and for that matter, only nylon type materials can be dyed... some other plastics cannot be dyed.
        hope this helps...
        ciao!

          Hi nightbreed,

like foampervert has mentioned. only nylon white rims is suitable for dyeing.

some rims that we bought did mentioned 'dyeable white'. i guess only that qualifies for dyeing?

You know, I think I used plastic wheels instead of nylon. The wheels seem very hard. Not like the softer nylon. Haiya. Too bad.
