    EP 1/10 touring cars

    Hello!

There are so many to consider. Can you all recommend a new kit (not RTR) for
    Some that I was contemplating:

    1. XRay T1R
    2. AE RC10TC4
    3. HPI Pro4
    4. Tamiya TB02R

    Thank you for your time!

Wah, before people get the wrong idea, I not experienced one, hor! I just want something that I can grow with. Don;t want to buy one thing, then outgrow it and buy another. Now just dipping my fingers into everything to see what I can stick with. I figure a better car can have better resale value should I not like it.

Aesthetically, I like the Xray. But my wallet like the TC4. Notice I said nothing about performance of car...

Anyway. TT-01 can go VVVRRROOOOMMM? Very impt for me.

Hmm. Since you own one, will the cost of hopping up a TT-01 eventually equal or exceed the cost of, say, a T1R or Pro 4?

I think eventually will be equal. But I like it because I can slowly learn to drive and hopup when I drive better. Buy one car so expensive later crash then replace the parts very expensive also.

Ok, then what's the difference among these Tamiya models?

                  TT-01
                  TB-02
                  TA-04

                    TT-01
                    TB-02
                    TA-04
TT-01 as stock has no adjustment for camber, toe. Its shaft driven and very basic. Tamiya will be launching the TT-01R and the TT-01D (Drifting) soon

TB-02 has camber adjustment and front toe adjustment. shaft driven as well. but can be quite a heavy car.

TA-04 is almost the same as the TB-02 except that it is belt driven and in its dying days coz Tamiya will launch the TA-05 very soon

Here's some pics in the recent tamiya show in Japan. You can have a look at the new cars.

If you ask me, there is no such thing as getting a car that will last you a longer time before passing it on. you can have the cheapest to the most expensive car, if you dun learn how to set the car and dun take the time and patience to slowly setup the car for your runs, you will soon want to past it on. And setting it up is only just 1 part of touring cars. Learning to drive it just smoothly without even banging is part 2 of it.

Yup, I know that. But like you pointed out, there are limits to the chassis and therefore my rationale is that if you want to be able to set up your car as you become more experienced, you might as well get a chassis that will allow you to do so.

Ok, so you would recommend as a starter car as well as one that can 'grow' with you? I only pointed out that they look good because I don't have any experience with touring cars, so that's all I noticed.
