I'm using a modded Castle Creations Mamba Monster Max esc with Tekno Rc Neu 1515 2200Kv motor on 5S 5000mah 20C lipo. Should be good for 40mph & target 30min. runtime.

PS : had a brief run today. Too powerful. This sort of power corrupts..

There is a fan in integrated into the esc. It's in the esc case so not too obvious. I did manage to kill the motor in its first outing though. Not supposed to happen. Guess it's a manufacturing defect. I have a smaller one in my buggy conversion & I thrash the hell out of it & still it's going strong.

Just got my paws on a 1/8 buggy recently... possibly for a conversion
I bought my buggy 1st and while idling around, I got an engine for it.

I'm eager to know what run time you're getting with your setup.

What motor spec is preferred for a truggy and buggy?

Is your excessive power due to the 5s?
Would it have been more manageable with 4s?

                      Thanks man.
Will look closely into the cost of heading down this path.

Ok I've had a couple of runs over the last few weeks & I must say I really like this truggy. Runtime could be longer though but 15minutes is still not too bad.

On a separate topics, I just had my first race amongst the nitro boys using my electric buggy. I qualified 6 out of 13 using my electric conversion while my nitro buggy qualified only 10th. Becuase of run time issues, I swapped the electric vs nitro & ran electric in the B main (7th qualifier to 13th) & managed a second placing, about 18 seconds off the pace of the winner (half lap). In the A, I managed a fourth placing using my nitro - fun weekend.

                        this guy is fast !
