    Rc Touring Race

    Hi everybody,

I am currently organizing rc cars races for children 6yo and above.

The rules are simple, first to complete 20 laps win.

I do beginners, intermediate and advance races and the track layout is
different (according to level). The cars are provided (TT01 1/10).

I am wondering how its done professionally?

Like is it by timing, laps or others?????

Or anybody have better idea/s, do recommend.

    Thanks in advance

    For childrens...

2 ways to start, what I can think of..

All start at the same time, dashing for the first corner.. ( and banging ).

    Or :

Start at staggering timing, one by one, at say 1 or 2 seconds interval... some marshall can actually help place the cars in sequence one by one on the track..

Timing, transponders would be the best... if not, will need a lot of eyes to check and count..

Basically do note of overlapping cars that are perceived to be behind a slower car, but then, it would had already done an extra lap. etc..

You'll need an AMB auto count system (or similar) to do it professionally, the cars will have a transponder attached to it and the system will log the number of laps and timing of each car (usually up to 10).

EP car racing format is usually 5 mins duration, most number of laps and the fastest timing wins.

      cheers !

        Thanks for responding.

Currently we are using a stagger start because the original bodyshell
were badly damage due to inline start and rushing for first turn
(lots of crush) and the replaced one are damage as well. We have 8 cars.

I like the transponder system, any idea where to buy and the cost of it?

I really appreciate the recommendation guys.

        Thank you

          Happy to be transponding

Do a search on AMB systems with your favourite search engine.

...Warning ! ...they are not cheap !

            Warning noted.

FYI, I am doing the races for free. It's for my club members
where I work. In case, some thinks that I am making money
from the races and asking for free suggestion.

The children are getting better at the control and I was
thinking of introducing them to drifting.

            What are your thoughs???

I also attached some pics from the recent race organized.

Great job TSk.. but just curious and OT a little, what club are you from?
Definitely very good move to promote a healthy outdoor hobby with much learning for the childrens !

For transponder, think are really expensive lah.. but Im not sure if there are any other brands that are more budgetary ?

                GOOD JOB ! TSK

Get these kids to take part in the various races(Tamiya, HPI, etc) once they can control their cars well enough that they dun keep banging the sideboard and other cars to develop their skills further.

Drifting dun need transponders as you'll race 2 at a time.

                cheers !

Very nice of you to organise this for the kids. Do drop a mail at sgdrifters.com if you need any help. The AMB I checked the internet. It's damm ex. Over US $1500. So like suggested, do a 1 on 1 drift. Drifting no need so many laps one. If not, suggest build the track longer and wider so they will have more space. Volunteers can act as lap counters if you really still want more laps. Good luck.
