    Need Some Advise

Hi, I am new here and the last time I was exposed to RC Cars was like back then in 1991 during my NS Days. Used to own an EP Kyosho buggy but its been like so many years now.

I am looking forward to picking up the hobby again. I am looking for a RTR, GP on the road car. What would be a good entry level car to run?

I know nuts about assemblying a RC Car and worry might do more damage than good, lolz. Also perhaps I can use this hobby to get my 13 year old kid to be interested as well.

    Pls advise.

Hi, if you are really want to get a entry level car to run, i would say (my personal view):

      - Hpi RS4
      - Kyosho Fazer
      - Kyosho Fw-05T

      You can go to:

TaiSing to look for more cars under Hpi
Toykar to look for more cars under Kyosho
Stargek to look for more cars under Tamiya

If you had decided to buy a RTR, not to worry about assemblying the car. If u face any problem u can alway refer to the manual. hehe

I dunno, maybe around 1K for entry level. Would that be enough?

I saw some entry level stuff RTR going around $800++ at Toykar. Would that be good enuff for entry level.

Appreciate all the help and comments.

If you are interested in just driving the RC car around, then checkout the tamiya kit. I bought one for my nephew for less than $300 + the controller will be around $400. so you still have a lot of spare cash for other stuff.

If you want to go nitro, then go for pro kit. The RTR version may not be fast enough to entice your son. However, Nitro car kit can be quite ex. the body itself can cost $500, engine $350-$550, and all this is before the controller unit and exhuast pipe. And some consider this as entry level setup.

So ultimately, it depends on what you define as entry level or what you want to do with the RC car.

my advice is dont buy a car 1st.come down to any tracks to see see,mix with the the people at the track before tinking buying a car.its better to use the same kit with the old bird at the track.coz if u encounter problem its easier to get help, troubleshoot or spare parts from them coz u r using the same kit. try not to waste so much $ coz i happened to me before i bought a RTR but end up changing to a pro kit n holes in my pocket
