    Servo: Standard.
    Motor: Silver can is enough.
    ESC: any stock ESC.

That should keep the cost to the min.

For servos, I've always used Hitec. Most of my cars use the HS625 or HS645, regardless of truck or touring. But they cost a quite a bit, abt $60. I've never drifted, so I'm not sure what servos suit. Rotor has a pretty good range.

For ESC I use the Futaba MC330CR, good for motors 13 turns and more. That's about $90. I got mine from Winnie.

I think Tamiya silver cans are something like $20+. Also from Winnie.
        I can haz diving?

          Servo - Hitec 311, 322 325 or 422. Cheap and good.

ESC - if you can lay your hands on Tamiya TEU ESC, that will be good. Else can get Futaba MCR 330 or 230.

Silver can means standard motor, any LHS should have some.

There is no such thing as exactly wat model you'll need for drifting as there are hundreds of combinations. All due to personal preference. Perhaps if you have certain brands in mind, we can give you an educated recommendation.

BL for drifting? Isn't it an overkill? Everytime press throttle, the car stays stationary.

Yah man, Mamba Max sure doesn't sound low cost.

If you like speed, drifting is not for you. Have you seen ppl drifting? It's painfully slow. A hotter motor's not going get you any faster. Might even be slower, with all the power wasted on wheelspin. The only thing you'll get from drifting with hot motors is shorter run time due to higher amp draw.

Yes, for drifting, I recommend stock/basic electronics. Meaning silver can for motor, cheap ESC to power the motor and standard servo.

                          Advantages are:

                          1) With managable rpm, you'll actually have better contol of the car when drifting. Drifting ia all about throttle control, not speed.

                          2) Stock electronics gives you the longest run time.

                          3) Obviously it's the cheapest combo.

You can get the stuffs from most LHS. Try Winnie of Swan Model. Put a wtb at rctech, I'm sure someone will want to sell.
