    Pistol Grip TX question

Dunno if I should post this question in the RC electronics section or here...but i reckon I will get better results here...

Anyone knows if the JR XS3 transmitter can use any other brand's FM 2 or 3ch RX?

Or will it face the same positive and negative shift compatibility issues?
If so, what are the RX that are compatible with the XS3?

min-z runs on AM and most radio has a AM module for it.

      3pk / ex10 / m8 all can use the am module.

jrx3... should be only using back its own rx. dont think it will work with the rest.

          Thanks for the advise!

Looks like my options are narrowed down to 3pk or Sanwa M8/11 if i wanna have a truely multi-rx capable pistol grip tx.

Any ideas if the lower end 3pj can take AM module too?

          Thanks again!

KO Propo EX-10 Helios have AM modules that can be used for Mini-Z as well.

              wat about FM rx compatibility?
If i use FM modules in those mentioned TX, what are the chances I can interchange FM rx?

eg. Can I use a 3PK with FM module on 27Mhz with a...say...hitec 3ch FM rx? or maybe a KO 3ch FM rx?

              Thanks guys!

yep, i do know that mini-z only runs on AM...
Just wanna know about the rx compatibility with FM rx when i use the FM modules on those TX.

Just like our heli/planes versions....JR FM is compatible with Hitec FM, but have to be JR shift, etc...

Not very sure if the car FM rx are compatible though...dun wanna make a wrong purchase and realised that I'll be stuck with a particular brand of RX and will have a limited/expensive choice....but to think of it, if i wanted budget, i can always fall back to AM rx with AM modules.

well they have shift as well

so JR cannot run futaba stuff .. hehehe

and ko ex10 cant use any other rx as well..

normally for cars we use back the same factory rx to be safe.

3pk rx is HSR (high responds rx)
                    ex10 ( is also HSR )
                    JR is Spcm

Dang! Now u made my choice more confusing...

I think i shall stick with the good old budget AM tx then....but then AM dun have 3channels TX/RX right?

&%$&%&%...always have to make choices so difficult.

If for u guys, what will u get in terms of AM rx compatibility + a wider range of FM rx choice & compatibility?

                        Thanks again for the info.

I have a M8 with AM module. I used it for my Mini-Zs as well as my 1/10. For my 1/10, I'm using KO AM receivers. No problems as far as glitching is concerned. There was once a racer's car with FM receiver and it was glitching like mad. Someone has to hold on to his car to prevent it from jump starting.

Hmmm.....what about 3ch support on AM systems? Almost non-existence right?

I think there's an AUX channel on M8 which some pple says it's the 3rd channel.
