    Anyone into rc boats here?

    Anyone?
For some people it's important to show what they have, for others it's sufficient to know that they have it.

Hey, cool! Nitro boat a bit difficult to play in 'complain happy' enviroment here. Think I'm sticking to EP, although I'm smitten by Miss Bud.

boats cannot find place to play leh...and you dun wanna be playing out at sea becoz of the strong waves & destructive saltwater.

Would love to try out if there are kakis to accompany.
        Been eyeing rotor's Traxxas boats.

same same, problem finding the right place for RC boat. Many years back there is one at west cost specially build for RC boat, but not sure is it still there. If anyone have information on the location do let us know, thanks in advance.

I know pasir ris park got a designated pond for Boat racing, last went there abt a year ago.

Else try to mod yours into electric and probably punggol park is a suitable place. Heard they gather there on Saturday afternoon ....

              Cheers

I play my EP at Pierce. So far no problem and I'm keeping my finger's crossed. I've heard some ppl play in Punggol Pond and West Coast Park.

I've just bought Traxxas Villain EX. Have yet to launch it though. Thinking of doing a water cooling jacket for the motor so that I can run twin 7-cell packs instead of 6-cell.

Last I heard Pasir Ris pond got people playing.....and I'm eyeing the ponds at East Coast where there's lots of water hycine?, near the chalets.

Mad Armour, I was intending to get the Villian too...lemme know the performance like handling (ie, response to turning at high speed), planing speed, etc...

I'm interested to know if it handles like the real thing.
Haven't driven a real boat for years now....might be able to practise docking with RC...

I've just changed the connectors to Deans and will probably do a test run tomolo. Supposed to max 24mph stock.

My first boat is a twin-motor Victory. Pretty fun but it set me on a speed hungry drive, hence the Villain.

Well, do lemme know how it handles when you put it in for the first run.
BTW, how much did you pay for the Villian EX?

Villian IV looks cool also...any idea what's the main difference? & price diff?

No probs, I'll post something once I got it on water. It's listed at $406 but if you're a menber, you get a slight discount.

Villain IV and EX shares the same hull but the difference is

                          1) EX uses EVX ESC, similar to the one you find in E-Maxx.

                          2) EX runs on 2 packs in SERIES, giving a running voltage of 14.4, while IV runs on 2 packs in PARALLEL, for longer running time.

                          3) EX has twin 550motors while IV runs on twin 540.

                          Read all about here:

                              Here's my initial impression:

                              Place: Lower Pierce
Condition: windy with water quite choppy.

OK, becos the water's choppy and it's the Villain's maiden launch, I just maxed at half throttle so my view is based on that.

She handles pretty well and at half throttle, goes pretty fast too. Turning is with full confidence. It's a great sight watching her wave-hopping!

Post running, the batteries and twin motors are hot. I'm gonna install a water cooling coil pretty soon as I'm planning on running her with 14 cells!

The interior is dry, with no signs of leak.
