    Upgrading my Vanquish

Bought this Vanquish more than one year ago and it has not touched water since. The original setup has flaws so decided to upgrade her before even driving her. The boat in its original condition when I got her as used condition.

Gutted the inside and sand it down. Removed the stinger strut to be re-positioned higher and removed the water pick-up.

Also removed the antenna holder, water inlet and outlet.

Epoxied and fibreglass the holes to seal them up.

Install the stinger strut and stuffing tube with motor mount and motor to get the alignment correct.

Put in the batteries, connect to rx, first time powered up the motor and finish all the tiny little bits.

Maidened my Vanquish. But not a nice maiden. Given the amount of power the motor possesses, the weakest link got to give way.

                    Back to the drawing board..............

I shifted the cg to the rear of the boat as it was running too wet thus I guess that was the cause of the cable to snap.

Then the cable was slipping on the stock coupler.

Went OSS, bought a Octura X452 prop and Octura 6mm to 3/16" coupler. Ran it last Sat and at last, managed to clock some speed, 53.7mph. Need further running to dial in the speed.

So far, still not very happy of how it ran although its as fast as I wanted but its a little uncontrollable. Think I will be dumping this hull and move all hardware and electronics to a proper Delta Force hull. The flimsy hull of this Vanquish make the runs very unpredictable, nearly sending it to shore this morning. Lucky managed to turn in time.
