Just done up the trim tabs. Hope it works. Will have a go tomolo and see.

For some people it's important to show what they have, for others it's sufficient to know that they have it.

      Hi Guys

I just got back from Perth. Was flying a foam RC park flyer with my 4yo nephew... he's graduating from his bike-pump powered Air Hogs!!

Sounds like Zan has taken to salt water and Mad A has discovered dolphins I haven't put trim tabs on my bluestreak yet cos I was hoping to find some adjustable ones like the pros use, but nobody carries them except in the US. Anyway, MS pond did look a bit sick last time Zan and I were there... need to call NParks to do a cleanup

Mad A, those tabs look good... were they effective in chasing away the dolphins?
If in doubt - add more horsepower!

        Welcome back!

Yup, those tabs works! Now minimal porpoising but still a bit of side to side swaying on 14 cells. Wonder wat's the problem now.

It's the soul in your boat man ... like to sway and bop a little... can't keep a good boat down eh?

Got time for a little boating action at Ponggol tomorrow (Tues)? My last day of R&R before I return to the salt mines on Wednesday
If in doubt - add more horsepower!

Zan, here's a glimpse of the Cat... in the nude (so to speak)

I need to get some urethane spray paint before I can start work (Toykar didn't mention this minor detail when I bought the Cat ) becuase the manual says the hull may discolour and deform if it meets Mr. nitro fuel

Does rotor sell this type of spray paint?

Think u can buy fuel proof paints from NTC but not sure if they r urethane thou. For best results u have to prep the surface using 600 grit sand paper or scouring pad.

Hmmm when i saw the review on this meowmeow here http://www.rcboatmodeler.com/reviews...rghini_cat.asp they juz painted the engine liner, which should be good enough esp if you wipe down after every run. I would hesitate to paint the whole boat cos that adds unneccesary weight and may not look as good as the original finish.

I think so too... also dun have a dust free room to spray in. Will go down to the shops in Fook Hai tomorrow to see if anyone there sells the stuff... walking distance from work

BTW, just came back from a run at Ponggol with Mad Armour. The esc overheating and cut-off problem I had with the Bluestreak has been licked . Just bolted on a hardisk cooling fan which draws power from the motor batteries (c photo). Managed to drain a 3300 bat pack with no interruptions

That Villain Ex of Mad A's is quick... running circles around my boat

If in doubt - add more horsepower!

                      Kyosho Bluestreak 800 EP

Hey, I have one of the bluestreak as well. I am new to boating !!! Need all your help on that.

Can you briefly summarize the hop up that you have done.

I have plan to change the propeller or even the motor. Can you tell me where to buy the propeller.

As for the trimming and all other stuff, I know nuts about it. I wander if i can use regular car ESC and plug in and spin the boat.

                      Thanks

Yes, you can use a car esc, but try to get some cooling air or water to it. Otherwise, it may overheat and cutout/burnout!

JH now stocks a good range of steel and plastic props. But remember that your shaft diam is 4mm. You should get one around the 40 to 42mm diam range. Alternatively, you can try a Prather 215 from NTC, but you will need to sharpen and balance the prop before use. The Prather will also need a brass sleeve to adapt the 3/16 inch shaft diam to fit the 4mm Kyosho prop shaft. If the nose of your boat bounces up and down at speed, you can buy some trim tabs at JH to sort that out. They work like elevators on a plane and will keep the nose down. Have fun with the mods!
