    Lifespan of flexible shaft

hi all! I'm currently doing a project. & i'm planning to use a flexible shaft to drive a fan blade. RPM of it would be ard 25000 to 50000. wanna ask if de shaft would be able to to withstand dat kind of load? & at wat rpm usually boats shaft run on?

There are many factors to consider when selecting flex cable.

    1) Size of boat
    2) Size of prop
    3) Angle of flex
    4) Running RPM

Four of my boats are running on flex cable. Two on 4mm flex, another two on 0.150" flex. All four boat are abt 30" in length and prop range from 37mm to 45mm. Running RPM is abt 30,000rpm.

So far I have broke one 0.130" flex, one 0.150" flex and recently one 4mm flex. Thatz the result of the need for speed.

Two other boats are on straight solid shaft.
