I got a volvo boat bot from jet. The other day the prop got stuck with some net and got stranded in the pond. Later i discover that the motor is dead. I was wondering is it the motor or the esc? how to test which is dead? thks

anyway here is my 2 cts

Power up your TX and RX with your ESC connected, enter into the ESC setup mode, it should start beepin etc, if quiet ESC is dead.

Brushless Motor should not die so easily if you dry it and remove all moisture.

Use a balloon to water proof your RX.

I believe it is the stock brushed motor u r using. Jus connect the motor wires directly to the batts n see if the motor will spin.


Most likely is ur ESC is dead. Once the boat is stuck, u throttle n throttle, ESC sure burnt due to over amp draw. To check ESC, power it up and use voltage meter to check if there is voltage to the motor wires on the ESC. If no, confirm ESC dead. The ESC also supplies 5V to ur Rx n Servo, if neither have reaction also means ESC bye bye liao.
