im not sure abt the colour difference.. haha... as long as 1047 can liao..

and for 3s, ur 400 motor might burn up quickly..

        just my 2 cents..

bro.. on a Brushed setup.. its kinda overpowering.. even on 2s lipo i still find it over kill. was using nicd batteries before this.

also.. colour difference? I dont see any difference leh.. i tried grey and orange still same .. maybe someone can clarify ?

Which character are you test by

GWS has 3 colors for their props, grey, orange & black. Initially I was told that black is the toughest among them but I was skeptical so I pm GWS CEO and he told me they are the same just different color for your preference

I don't use D box for speed 400 but I suspect 3S is too high voltage for it resulting in high current drain. Do you have an ammeter/clampmeter to measure the current drain?

i used to use 3s with eps400, d gearing and 1170. Had lots of power, didn't fly it enough to destroy the motor before I went brushless. I believe I had more than a 100min on 3s plus 200 mins on 2s on the same motor.

I would think that 1060 would be a nice prop for the setup.

so if 400 d gear, 2slipo, prop 1060(it came with the kit i bought) but i went to buy 1047 coz someone told me itz better(gws website also states so), flight time roughly how long? guess i can forget abt3s & go get a couple of 2s instaed...how about the mah? Must get how much mah ones leh? Sorry for askin so much but i know nuts..

For batteries, the higher the mAh the better lor... can fly longer ma
Also, higher mAh means it can tahan more current drawn... eg, 10c on a 1200mAh lipo can have max con't current discharge of 12A, 10c on a 1700mAh gives 17A etc... All voice down to your setup.

According to GWS chart ( http://www.gwsus.com/english/product...em/eps400c.htm ), 400 motor on 1047 prop and 8.4V batt (~2s lipo) draws 8.2A. So technically speaking, a 840mAh 10c lipo should suffice. But I find the chart no zun one la, just use it as a guide. Best is still to do a measurement. If you got the budget, get higher mAh batt. U wun regret it.

But also be aware that higher mAh batt also means the batt bigger and heavier.

Just for reference, i used to fly SS with the following:
                        EPS300 D gear
                        1047 GWS prop
                        Etec 1700mAh 2s (10c)

Flight time ~10min of almost full trottle flying =)
With some trottle mgmt, think can hit 15min la..

Have fun with your new plane!

                          i used to use 1170 and 1047 with 2s on a ss. i used a 1800mah 2s 10c batt.
