    Pilot Seduction 25

This thread has been transplanted from the Electric Flying forum where it was first posted earlier this year.
    ===================

With the Pilot CAP232-10 finished and ready for her maiden next week, it was time to clear the work bench to make way for the next project - the Pilot Seduction 25.

This time, I won't be giving a blow by blow as taking photos is a very time consuming activity - taking precious time away from building itself. Besides, I've already done enough threads on this forum with past projects to guide those new to kit building. For the Seduction, I'll just publish only the bits I think will be of interest eg. modifications etc.

Have not totally figured out the power package for it yet. Any suggestions. I'm thinking of an Axi 2826-xx on 4S2P Lipo.

Nicely packed planks of laser cut balsa, all nicely bundled together. Hardware neatly packed in individual bags and rolled plans is what greets you when you take off the lid.

Pace has been very slow due to lack of time from work commitments.

To house the Axi 2820-10, I made a motor mount from 3mm ply. To allow for the possibility of a rear mounted Axi 2826-10, I made the mount removable. Here is a picture of the mount, sanded and ready for fibreglassing.

Besides the motor mount, the next area that will require modification is the provision of a battery mounting tray. Here, I used a laminate of 2 mm balsa with 1.5mm birch ply for lightness and strength. Slots were cut to allow velcro fasteners to be looped.

To provide adequate cooling for the cell pack, I cut slots on the fuselage sides.

The finished battery mounting tray complete with velcro loop.

Fuselage ready for final sanding. Wing construction begins next. Weight with Axi 2820-10 is 17 ozs.

Progress very slow due to limited opportunity for building this month. Finished the wing (well almost). Still needs carving of wing tips and final sanding.

Its been almost two months since I've done any real building - the Jazz was a slap bang job with two slabs of foam bundled together with strapping tape. Missed the smell of balsa dust and scorched Oracover Lite. So with a couple of free evenings, here she is.

Monokote trim and self made water slide transfers finished the job.

She'll start with an Axi 2820-10 on 10xGP3300 and APCE 12x6 to begin with. All up weight with the above set up is 60.5 oz or 1.716 kg.

To give an indication of relative size, here she is with a JR9x TX

To get this plane in the air, I'd have to buy a new Lipo 3S 3300-4000 mah. I am reluctant to buy this because as I am trying to exit from electrics, I should be getting rid of stuff not buying more. In addition, I have to make space for new kits in the construction pipeline.

Just toying with the idea. Anyone interested in buying the Seduction 25? It comes complete with Axi 2820-10, Hacker 40 Master, motor mount, Prop adaptor and servos. Only the motor and ESC are slightly used (3 flights on a Seduction Wildstyle), everything else is brand new. The servos may be removed from the package if desired as I can still use them for future projects but it would be a pity to waste all the effort in mounting and centering them to the flying surfaces (the part I hate to do the most).

Price will be reimbursement of costs only ie no building charge. The package includes the kit, ESC, and materials eg servo horns, links, covering material, glues, wheels, collets, hinges, etc etc to complete ie. no labour charge. If anyone is interested, let me know. In her present state, she is ready to fly with all servos mounted, all flying surfaces centred, and wiring harness in place. Only needs a receiver and cell pack to complete.

                Hi Tony,

how much are you asking for? (W/O motor) Can a Saito 30 be enough for this bird?

                Cheers

Yup. Used a Dremel jigsaw. Noisy but a good workhorse for over 10 years.

Sorry Jcho, its a lot sale ie. it comes complete with motor, Esc the works. The only optional part are the servos. I'm getting out of electrics. Besides, I have modified the nose to take an electric motor mount. Would be a waste to hack it all off to mount an engine.

Price can be determined by getting the price for all the parts at cost.

1xKit, 2 rolls covering, 1xthin cyno, 1xthick cyno, hinges, 1 packet Sullivan pushrods, 2xDubro horns, 2x50mm Lite wheels, 2xcollets, Axi 2820-10, Hacker 40 Master Esc, 3x HS81 servos, 1x4mm prop adaptor and 1xbattery connector. I think this completes the list of items.

Blood, sweat, tears and elbow grease to build it - FOC.

Thanks. But I sincerely hope nobody dies from buying it - happy or otherwise. Ha ha

I have visited that flying site a couple of times. Never flown there. Used to fly in Tuas before the second link was built and then after that at RMS. Stopped for a long time (to sire two kids) and only back flying electrics last few years at Marina South.
