haha just saw your bulb...
you can get the same bulb and buy the button battery from SLT(sim lim towers)
Ask Medium when he gets back, he has used it successfully in pitch dark on the balsa trainer plane from jet hobby.

I believe each bulb is only a few cents and the button lithium batts are $2 each. you need 6v to power one of those small leds to be bright enough!

hmm maybe u can try getting two leds in series and hook them up parallel to the
wiring. thats what i did.. it kinda works. bought just 2 leds and some molex connectors+pin. can use this on pretty much anything, including cars.
if i say anything wrong.... pls coorect me... thanks

Hi guys! After watching acehobby's vid, i feel i have to do my ifo some justice and add more lights. But i dont want any complicated wiring. Is there anywhere i can get those LEDs that use a single button cell? Checked out acehobby's website and they are not cheap. Anywhere esle where i can get them cheap?

bro, i tynk i have to correct you on this part. the lights that you saw in the video are not the ones on the acehobby webpage. the one that u saw on the webpage is actually those lights used on heli. and they are quite heavy to be placed onto ifo becosz each led light is hooked on with a watch battrey. the one's that acehobby are using on their ifo are just ultra bright led lights which are connected in series and the power source will of cos be drain out by the lipo batt...

it would b easier if u know some electronic stuff, get those normal LEDs from Sim Lim tower and a LED driver cct, connect to you lipo batt for power and drive the LEDs array. depend on the spec of the LED IC driver, it might able to connect up to 24 LEDs in a row. however if you use the lipo batt , it will shorten the fly time as well.

those are not for IFO bro.
if you wan cheap and good? DO it yourself.
else you can go visit/call ACE hobby Singapore and ask the boss there to fix some nice LED lighting for you.

In Sim Lim tower, You can find many kind of LED. On the 3 level, there is one shop call Bell system you can find many different colours of LED range, cost is ok or at the basement level at one of the corner, that side also have.

if you want to make it lighter, you could connect every things in both serie or parallel.

Wire wise you could use the "fine wire"(it's the smallest wire in the shop) which is use for wire wrapping in electronics which you could found once you are at level 3, the name of the shop is Sunlight(I think), another shop call silicone and so is the basement corner shop. These shops have carry packs of wire for sale. If you are not sure which is the wire you could ask the shopkeeper

To DIY you need the following smiple tools, soldering iron, soldering lead, wire, cutter and LED.

Sorry, forget to add, because it's a "fine wire", it is very difficult to cut with the cutter, you could get the tools call "wire wrapping tools" the cost will be about $18.00 (forget which shop in Sim lim tower) will be easlier to strip the rubber around the wire.

well just done with led ifo flyin in tanamara mrt the plot of land beside. i buy my led from sim lim . u ask for the brighter one cost around 80cent.each and for the resistor use 56 ohm cause the higher the ohm the less brighter.for my case i use parella cause if use seris one led short all will be down so use // better. the led have two leg ong long one short. the long one is + so remember to solder the resistor to the +. remember red for +.if u connect series only 3 led can be use if forth one use will not light up for 2s but hav not try 3 s cause dont one to burn led.correct if i'm wrong.
well that all . spent abt 20 to 30 dollars for this projet. will show u if got pic.

ifo use 7.2 v rite? so must find amp and use it to find the ohms u need. ya as suggested those button lights are only for helis. if ur confused, u can make a trip down to acehobby and ask mr william to fix for u
