    E-starter or PD51 Mustang

    Hello,

Can anyone help me out on this:

I am able to perform fast forward flight on a Heli but have never fly a plane before except on a G2 Sim. I am able to land and take off using a Sim.

I like to look of the PD51 Mustang but was not sure if i can manage to fly it, so should i go for the E-starter or a PD51 is just as managable as the E-starter?

    Appreciate your opinion.

    Thanks

Well sim is different than real life though you might have practice , for a beginner , the e-starter is the best choice =)

Go for E-starter or Slow Stick. Warbirds are way too fast.

if you can FF a heli in all orientation and do stuffs like loops with it.. I suggest u get a formosa instead. Estarter may be too "beginner" for u...
          huh

after that you may wanna get a slowstik on BL setup....a 2015 will do magic on a slowstik

Looks like there are Farmosa and slowstik beside E-starter and PD51. Guess i will have to start with the E-starter or maybe the Farmosa before getting my PD51.

              Thanks guy for your opinion.

              Cheers....

                E-Starter /P-51

Hi, I guess you like scale looking planes, no?

I suggest Super Cub from Thunder Tiger. This kit is so much better in terms of quality than either of the GW_ foamies. Fell in love the moment I open the box

Assembly time is also much shorter as the kit comes with push rods, control surface pre-installed. Wings and fuselage and tail are much more robust and ding-prove than the GW_ planes. Not too sure about the geared 370 brush motor, but looks like it will provide ample power. The best part is that its cheaper than both E-Starter and P-51

I've own a number of GW_ planes and is currently flying their Spitfire.. loved every second of my flights,.. but in my opinion, it certainly make more sense to get the TT Super Cub as a 1st airplane.

Get the P-51 after you are through with the frozen thumbs and silly mistakes syndrome.

                Cheers

I own one too and yes its a great plane. It's almost like the E-Starter BUT without the ailerons. Its the easiest plane I;ve ever assembled and the fastest too .

the 370 Motor is good enough for my flights

and I love ever second of it. Yes I agree the quality is better.. Get it at rotor man! was recommended by them

                    Slow Stick Rocks!

Beef up with brushless and shred birds big time. I am almost convinced that if you power off your Tx in mid-flight, SS will auto-pilot into perfect landing!

BTW, the SS is known to be GWS best seller. Crashed? Replacment is affordable and usually involved only foam with SS and E-starter.

                      I have both...
the P-51D is not half as manageable..and it tipstalls.
one being that it flies much faster, if you build the mustang true and right, it will fly very nice... remember to fill out the panel lines as well(reduces the tipstall tendencies)

the e-starter is a nice trainer plane. looks ok and has ailerons to roll.
also it is a trusty plane.. if you are going to build with the stock 350 motor, build it light. DO NOT GET THE 400 size motor. model as it flies poor on it.

I always take my e-starter as a backup plane when i fly. (i dont leave home to fly without it)

                      Cheers!

don't forget the Beaver....was told my Ma Kuang that it's the most hardy plane GWS ever built.....

one thing to note...don't pull high G stunts with this baby or the wings will flap like a chicken doing the funky dance in mid air...

2 wks ago was flying the SS with a new gearbox, forgot to put in the hold down screw. Motor and gearbox flew off in mid air ..... ......come down like a bomb ......then again manage to fly / glide the SS to a perfect 3 point landing .....hehehe first time fly the SS in a glider version

I heard about the SS being the easiest plane to fly but i don't seem to like the look of it. I have thought of the Beaver too but have not heard much about it.

So it is still the e-starter the best plane for me to start with or maybe the TT super cub. The PD51 will be my next plane maybe 3 month down the road (if i can master it), imagine the sound of a PD51 with a running four stroke engine.

once again, thank you all for your valuable opinion.

Cheers and happy flying/racing to all of you..

Seriously... E-starter could be too easy for u once you concur the fear of flying with the propellor at the nose instead the top of the head...

And Moving from a E-starter to a warbird is a huge jump.

A high wing and a long wing plane has very much different characteristic.
High wing plane tends to self correct better than a low wing... i.e. more stable.

As for a P51... it tip stall very very easily.
If you seriously and to start with a Estarter.. I still suggest you fly formosa or other F3A plane before trying a warbird...
                              huh
