IMHO, the ASPs from China are pretty good value . They are actually similar to Magnums, but cheaper, and seem compatible with OS in design and spare parts, (eg. when you lose a muffler ) especially the mounting hole dimensions. (where Thunder Tigers differ).
The down side is that the cost-savings probably comes from poorer alloys and machining tolerance. Overall, they are good everyday 4-strokes with adequate power.
My own experience find them reliable, but doesn't hold low idle too well, plus limited power transition over the last 1/3 of the throttle full-opening.
    I run 30, 61, 80, 91 & 120 ASPs, mostly on 15% nitro w synthetics (Powermaster 'Mean & Green').
Your 40-50 size plane would nicely take a 61 (same size as a 54, but more power).
Now, the really bad news; you've got to buy them from Champion at Kelantan!

ASP metallurgy is not as good. You pay for what you get. Try one then upgrade to OS, Saito and YS in that order. If you crash, ASP broken not so heartache. For that price , they are disposable. They also consume more fuel for the same power. 60-80 flights and your metal parts and bearings kaput. ASP- All Stupid People.

I have a TT91 and I must say it's a real hardy engine and good power too. Not forgetting the price is good too.

emm well frankly magnum and ASP is the same just the stamping on the engine makes the diff...ASP & Magnum....both from same factory...

              Y Pay More? hehehehe

Most of my engine is ASP..so far all of them runs very well...

Easy to say ...proper break in...u dont have to worry....your engine will never give u problem...

Champion Chan??? why care just go and buy...dont waste time in his shop....

                          yes

heyo heyo! some like some don't, so no need to argue , just share ur experiances to others

anyway don know leh i feel confiden to Magnum 2c cos i use Magnum XL32 so far so good, it can even bring my piper up to sky verticaly! i myself feel it can compare to OS!

I might try on the 4 stroke cos 'save save money'. like spacewalker said 'y pay more' if Magnum can produce '=' or almost same performance as OS??

hi spacewalker, did u know the ASP prices? cos sure cant know from the 'Fxxker Cxxx'. hehe i want to know 30,54,61,70,80,91 sizes. any idea???

I have no comments on the Aeh Sai Puay engines....the vendor selling them...I dunno...

yzy ASP good also...when pull into a ertyicle climb it reduces power to minimise fuel consumption!!
