Motor not running.. Pls help.. beginner woe..

    hi bros..

Need help with my first plane Thunder Tiger Super Cub.

    Problem: Motor/propeller is not running

    motor: 370 super motor
    ESC: GWS ICS-300E J
    Tx: laser 4, mode 2

on ECS there is 3 wire connection. one to battery, one to motor and one to Rx.

on Rx: ch1 - servo to rudder, ch2 - servo to elevator, ch4 - ESC connection.

After Tx and Rx on... move stick left and right - rudder move.
move stick up and down - elevator move..
but motor/propeller not moving at all.

on the manual, state to throttle up the stick. the motor unit should come on.
dont quite understand what throttle is the manual mentioned about.

    any idea?

hmm, throttle reversed?(cant be, if so, ur motor will be screaming!) i thought throttle was channel 3?

    arty
p.s. wat batt and charger did u buy?

      Try Ch3 for the ESC.

That's the correct channel if you're using Hitec/Futaba. Not sure about other Txes.

A Futaba Tx needs the throttle channel reversed for the ESC, if you leave as normal nothing happens when you move the stick.

Simply set throttle and trim all the way down to arm the ESC before you plug in the plane battery.

ok guys... thanks for ur input... prob solved..
this super cub only for 2 servos dat is for rudder and elevator..
so i think there is no throttle to play around.. if i understood u guys correctly...

i tried the servos and ESC on every each channel.. same prob.. motor dont want to start
on the tx and on the rx... pull out every damn connection and put back in... still the same...
i off the tx and remember the correct way, have to off the rx first before off the tx.. i on back the tx... and the propeller rotate full power ... it move towards me.. no time to tai chi... wham.. hit my left calf.. lucky the plane facing me.. if facing my kids.. sure terok wan...

it freak me out to think wat will be happened if r/c plane hit people when on flight...

so..my setup.. is ch1 for rudder, ch2 for elevator n ch3 for ESC
to run the motor... i need to on tx first and on rx.. off tx and on it again.. hmmm donno if this is the correct way or not.. but it works...

haiiizzz see the cut.. for sure model agency dont want to hire me to do cat walk..

p/s: arty.. im kind of desperate to maiden my plane asap.. so went to rotor today and the best batt they got dat fit to batt compartment is 8.4V 750mah $20.60.. i buy 2 of these ..
and i buy the cheapest charger dat they have.. 'super' brand nimh and nicd quick charger.. $33 .. should do for 5/6 months before i go for tahmazo + powersupply + lipos + lead field batt..
to date.. i spent a total of $396.40 just to start flying this hobby... my wife could only shake her head...

            cheers

              hi intrance.

think its better read the manual again. you should never off yr Tx after you power up your Rx,
and never with power supply to motor.

the best way is to ask some one to help you with the setup and explain what is what.
as normal, ask someone to teach you how to fly, you dont want your $400 to fly away
after just 1 min of flying. funfly funfly funfly, a lot of helpful pilots around, just ask

hope you will be flying soon.

Its a Great day, lets fly, crawl, and fight.

ooh... intrance... GWS cells? is the super a peak charger? not very sure. hmm, that should not happen, on my ICS-480, its really just -1)make sure throttle down,2)connect battery, 3)throttle up and motor will move.yep, channel 1 is for ailerons, 2 is for elevator, 3 throttle(ESC), 4 is for elevator. But on 3 channel planes ppl tend to put their rudder on their aileron channel.

                cheers!

p.s. hope to see you maiden it well!(much easier if u are not a RC car convert!)

what do you mean by no throttle to play around with? You can't control the throttle??You must be able to control it lah, that is why you have a esc...

btw, if you are just testing out the electrical circuit hor, best is to not leave the prop on, in that case, even if the motor suddenly go full throttle, you won't get injure.

                  try reversing your throttle channel.

                    haha.. my mistake.. my mistake...
yes its correct.. ive changed my setup.. ch2-elevator ch3-ESC ch4-rudder... throttle down before connected to the batt... its work.. thanks

at ard 8, went with my kids to woodlands ave 12 (if not mistaken) and found a nice field beside a school (donno wat school).. just doing checkup when this car stopped and a guy asked for my frequency.. and they invited us to join them at further up field. nice guy.. if u r happened to read this.. i thank you..

so i told my kids.. we try a few times to fly and if still cannot then we join them. 4 times still could not fly.. and i told my kids, this will be last try.. else we join these guys...

it flew up up... haha.. i turn left i turn right.. happy happy..and suddenly it goes down down.. panic panic.. try go up up.. but the plane just go down down and it crashed ...
fuelsage broke into 2 at the nose.. all guts came out liao.. haha.. wings broke into 2.. wheel holder came out ... beyond repair...
there goes my $55.50 Super cub + 10 hrs build it...

no money to buy another one.. have to wait. hopefully there is sales soon.. haha.. and that time around, will definitely ask for help when flying..
                    expensive lesson learned..

If you have never flown before and would like to save some cash, get a simulator first, learn the controls and orientation, else, left and right up and down can all mixed up and panic .

I can understand everyone eager to see their creation go up in the air, and usually flying is not the problem, it is the landing .

Learn to crash in the simulator, then learn to fly the real thing.

err this simulator.. where can i check it out... wat is price range...? any recommendation?
should buy one.. my kids can try them too...

the common sim around are as follow:

Realflight G2 or G3@ around $500 if not wrong,
RealFlight is the best RC flight simulator new RC pilots can use when learning to fly RC airplanes and RC helicopters. Experienced RC pilots love this flight sim to practice new maneuvers and hone their skills to become even better pilots!

                            Aerofly $ ?
The flight simulator for the next generation

                            Reflex $ ?

FSM is free, but still need to get a TX + Cable

try the market place and you might get a good deal.
