    Batt Compartment Mod

    Hi,
This is how I mod the battery compartment.

    1. Heat an old penknife blade / flat screw driver
    2. Carefully use the heated blade / screw driver to melt the EPO "step" in the battery compartment. After that carefully enlarge the compartment by further melting.
    3. Remember, this is a irreversible process... mistake =

Pic 1-2: see the very rough melted and enlarged batt compartment. Base is only <0.5 cm thick. Thank goodness the EPO is TOUGH and so far held up quite well.

Pic 3: A 3S 1500 mAH comfortably fitted with some space to spare. The EPO is able to stretch a little but I think 3S 1500-1600 mAH is about max (depending on actual batt dimension, of course). The battery will not shift in flight after the wires are connected.

    Cheers,
    Leon

        servos

The servos goes straight into the suggested compartment. Nothing fancy here.

The RX (Orange) can be seen in the pics also. Its placed nicely into the comparment under the battery. Finally the wing is screwed on and ready to fly.

was wondering is your servo horn facing down under the wings or facing up through the wing upwards
because after afew belly landing , it pull off the aileron.

              horns

I mounted the horns as per instruction, under-wing.

After a few trimming flights (I used the second hole for ailerons), I carefully cut away the rest of the protruded parts (the further hole). This will reduce the grass from grabbing any parts hanging out of the wings.

Never had any hinge failure by grass.

I would not use hinge tape, but instead cut slots and use the regular mylar hinges for the repair.

              Cheers,
              Leon

                  back on this plane again.

                  need advice :

is the kit out of box need to align the front wing and back elevator for same distance ?
meaning front wing tip and elevator tip on left and right are same distance ?
is it correct it will cause the plane to roll to either side after throw into air ?

                    ..

Everything is to be as equal as possible... but being made of EPO foam the wings tend to get distorted from time to time, so its good always to check.
The only thing that is probably not 'equal' is the motor thrust line. Its pointed slightly to the right and down.

When hand launch it is normal for the plane to roll slightly to the left due to the torque of the motor. You can either let the plane pick up speed and the left rolling will stop or give the control stick a light tap to the right and then let the plane pick up speed.

I no longer fly this plane, but its one sweet, speedy plane I recall...

                    Cheers!

Are both planes at stock motor and esc ?
How many cells are you using ?
Mine has grounded. 2S cannot make it. Or maybe is me.
