Which is the best warbird (WWII)

Looking at all the 1.4m series warbirds, trying to decide which of them is the best..in terms of agility....never flown any except F4U,...but I think I like P47 and F6F...than again those 2 are the smaller version dont know how the bigger ver will do....any input from anyone?

Just a feeling...it seems that the fatter the fuselage,..the better it will fly..(better in terms of agility)...thats just my feeling in regards to these WWII warbirds...

Are you looking for so large scale warbirds? 0.7m kinda easier to maintain and setup. Can be really fast too. 1.4 heavier so need bigger motor, prop, battery and transport. Just my two cents
"To invent an airplane is nothing. To build one is something. But to fly is everything."- Otto Lilienthal

"To fly a plane, a pilot must have cool brains and hot hands!"- Dennis John De Witt

ya, plane size n eye sight is another factor to consider, cant help it but as some of use getting older,..sometimes,..things need to be abit bigger in order to see better,...well,..I usually go for 1M or 1.2...1.4 is the max ...of course the price factor goes up accordingly..can never have best of both worlds...saw HK has some "Giant scale"//1.6 or 1.8M..but those probably need a lorry to transport

          my italian fighter

well this is my macchi veltro 205 of WWII by VQmodels Vietnam. I guess it looks pretty cool as it not those regular p-51, p-40,to zero, corsair etc that
is more commonly spotted. But do note this bird is quite far off from full scale proportions, especially the canopy being much bigger n too way in front of fuselage.

Towards the end of WWII, as the Nazi became more n more desperate to win the war, they came out with lots of planes (with jet engine) thats beyond their time, wonder any of those were made into RC plane

i never had or flown the models as mentioned but I will choose the smaller version due to my own personal preferences:-

                1) For electric planes, the max battery lipo size i will go for is up to 3s 3000mah. Any plane that require more S or more mah for proper flight power/duration, i will rather go glow instead as i think there is too huge a price increment in those bigger S / higher amps battery.

                2) Main thing why I like my smaller electric foam planes is that they are easy to transport, set-up, find flying field, fly as and where/when I like etc. A 1.4m wingspan will take away part or all of this advantages.

                3) The bigger electric plane you get, from parkflyer to wingspan 1.4m, the price difference between the electric and engine plane is getting narrower and narrower, it somewhat break even at size 40 till you u reach size 60 and beyond to giant scale 50cc gasser category where the electric plane will be even more ex than the engine plane.

I agree with the advantage of smaller planes,..but have u tried flying one of those midgets in the late afternoon in Tampines flying field? Its still flyable dont get me wrong, but it becomes a real challenge when the wind gets stronger as the day progresses, the only time I can see flying these smaller ver is during the early morning when the weather is generally calm (as in wind speed under 3 km/hr), part of the joy of flying is actually seeing how smooth they sail across the sky in the absence of strong wind current pushing them up or down...

This might very well be the best WWII plane,...but towards the end of the war,..2 things....not enough pilots....and certainly not enought elite good pilots..most probably KIA,...so give credit where credit is due,..ya...P47...51...Spitefire... F4U...F6F..are all the popular ones,...but if there was an elite squadron flying the ME 262,...that would really changed history..wouldn't it,...just look it it,...how is this plane in any way shape or form..looks like it came from the 40s era...
