The upcoming 400E pylon race event really drove me crazy. With the limitations to keep off thoroughbred racers, I do not have anything in my stable that is capable for such event. And for those who know me, foam party is a big NO to me.
After many days and nights of head scratchings, I finally decided upon a something I really want to build, even if it does not have any edge over the other competitors.
I dogged myself every night and available free time since last weekend to design and build this project. For at least, I am contended that I really made an effort to build one of my "Must-build" project.
The subject is very interesting. Bugatti has never produce any other aircraft except the R100 in the late 1930s to early 1940s. However, the R100 was never finished and flown after man himself lost his son and eventually died in the mid to late 1940s. The aircraft was sold off and eventually donated to museum before the world gets to see and understand it better.
Not many people would disagree, that this plane was really much ahead of its time. I personally feels that this kind of shape is something close to aircrafts designed and built in the 50s and 60s, like the earlier jets. Furthermore, the original uses contra-rotating props that cancels any torque and gyroscopic effects.
Anyway, this is what I got so far. I am anticipating that even if I can make it for the race, it will be done without finishings. Lets see how it goes in these few days.
