    Corsair F4U

I think Corsair F4U is the all time best looking WWII plane ever, maybe cuz its the way the wings look,...kinda like the minimoa just inverted...anyway, this is the tail section of my Corsair,..wingspan 1m by Art Tech, this is how much elevator I have to adjust to make the bird fly level,...I was wondering if this problem is common throughout for this particular model or maybe just by this particular manufacturer...(my CG is balanced perfectly so I know its not nose heavy)

hi, a couple of stuff to figure out:

-Did your CG location come from the manufacturer's website/book/manual etc? if so, check on RC groups or simply google the aircraft for its actual CG location via forumns or reviews, because occasionally, the manual gives a nose heavy CG location.

-Try moving your battery back 0.5cm at a time, after afew flights, you'll get the right CG location. Either that, or add a weight on the aircraft's tail area (i dont recommend this if you can move the battery around). Its not really safe, but its what i do. and its kinda working on my edge 540.

goodluck =) but you really shouldnt be flying with so much trim...

If the elevator surface is aligned into the groove and mounted right, I would level the elevator fin with respect to the surface.

I had a GWS corsair and it flew beautifully. All my control surfaces were leveled and no trim was required.

However, I noticed this little habit of my corsair. When I have too little speed when going into a loop, at the apex when the plane is inverted, it'll snap roll to become upright. Kinda of like doing a half loop + half roll and the plane comes back flying at me with a slight down attitude.

At approach, I found the low speed handling to be predictable. On aileron turns, rudder is necessary to tighten the turn radius. My setup is 3S 2200mah + 30A + 10x5 + 1210KV motor

High speed low level pass is especially nice with the gull wing
