Just wondering how those big scale (1400+ mm span) electric warbirds do on take off and landing on grassland? Can you hand launch those, will it trip when landing on grass etc.

so far i've taken off and landed on quiet roads & pavements with my giant FMS spitfire & corsair.

Not really...
Depends on what type of turf it is.
It's not smooth take offs and landings from a typical State Land as the ground is uneven whereby pockets of grass and earth were dug up and patched somewhere...snapped a propeller blade at one of those field during take off couple of days back.
but not all state land fields are like that.
