So if 2.4Ghz with 100mW or less Vtx is legal, perhaps it can be installed on park flyers and flown only within the flying field. Then we are not breaking any laws if we do not cause any interference to other IDA authorised radio-telecommunication networks? Now the question is how do we know that we wont cause any interference? Perhaps some experts could share their views.

    Regards

      hmmm

But it stated for video transmitting. for remote control aircraft is still 26.96 – 27.28 MHz
      29.70 – 30.00 MHz.

quite confusing. so is 2.4ghz for remote control a/c allowed?

A simple question; are your equipment all registered with IDA? Being in the approved range of frequencies alone does not mean that you equipment is legal to be operated automatically.

Guys, don't go any further beyond this, I suggest. The deeper you go, the more trouble you may get.

But I suppose IDA has not enforced this since there are no complaints from the public or IDA authorized establishments. Since 2.4Ghz is legal for video transmitter, perhaps we can still fly FPV within the limits set by IDA? Maybe all is not lost for FPV flying?

Understand your concern. I too am concerned about losing the rights to enjoy our hobby. Its just a thought. Maybe someone could clarify with IDA about the matter.

There are 2 aspect of this topic.

You have frequency issue with IDA. Even if you use a legal 2.4ghz and you register with IDA, you still have the aerial videoing n photography which under CAAS and ISD it's illegal.

For the sake of argument, people can say I take photo and videos from high rise building, how come can? This are static advantage point, you can't move to take from different angle. Have you guys notice flats near MINDEF, they have their windows angel and public cannot see what is in MINDEF.

Could you ask your friend for the time, date and exact location (as there are also other RC flyers at other locations nearby) ...pretty sure, they'll conduct an investigation to weed out anyone who is not complying.

...All of a sudden, all the FPV threads go quiet ! ...bet all those who posted their 'achievements' there are now regreting it !
Sorry Tony, I don't have more to share with you guys on the time and date of the incident. My friend only told me about it during our Christmas dinner last year and I guess once a year is the only time we meet up. However from his tone of voice he sounded very serious about the matter...he is after all in charge of air traffic safety at Changi Airport. What he did tell me was that they triangulated the scource coming from PFW and that they did inform uncle Sam to investigate the matter.

Maz, in Mar 2010 I had the privilege of meeting with 2 Captains from PLA ATC safety branch. One of the topic we discuss were on aerial photography. They pointed to me to CAAS rules and regulation for aerial photography prohibition without the approval of Director of CAAS.

Like your goodself, I too do not want to loose my rights to this hobby. I have been in this hobby for over 30 years and I am very passionate about it.

Yup, me too. And I don't fly FPV too. Let's police this together and if we see someone flying FPV, advise them to stop.

I have seen before some guys fly FPV at ECP field. Its the same guy with the Land Rover. Hope you guys will stand down, or the authorities will clamp down on our flying activities.

                          Gentlemen,
The message (and warning) is very clear. We are all at risk of loosing our flying fields because of some idoits/jerks who think they own the island.
We all have to stand up to these "insects" for the love of our hobby.

                            Fpv issues on da spotlight.

Well its clear that IDA inveatigation team went to tamp field for follow up investigation. I believe that they wont stop there. They will continue to haunt other places such as oHR and ECP soon. So since da government has already been involved, its time to stop. What are u waiting for...

Spore auhorities have a history of closing such activities be it direct or indirectly to prevent further escalation and to set an example to others. We either loose fpv or loose flying totally.

This investigation file will not be closed until they charged somebody in court or take summon action.
                            U guys can choose. :-)

Hi guys, I don't think there's a need for name calling here. Those FPV guys started off just as the rest of us RC enthusiasts. I am very sure they love this hobby too . It's just that they have gone to the dark side. I guess it's up to the the rest of us Jedis to bring them back just as Luke Skywalker had brought his father, Anakin aka Darth Vader, from the dark side.
Hehe. I have always wanted to use that example to good use.
Honestly, I was interested in FPV too and did some research. Even set aside some cash for the FPV gears. Only thing is I have not gone to the dark side yet cos I was still researching about legal frequencies in SG. Then this thread came up. I have since drop any intentions to fly FPV.
Ya, I know I have low post counts and only just joined DH some two years ago.
But I have been in this hobby some 20 odd yrs. Laid off for about 8 yrs before picking it up back 3 - 4 years ago.
Sorry, long story. My point is, if u are in this hobby and love it, you will do anything to keep it alive. I'm sure the FPV guys feel the same way too and drop teir FPV activities.

Joe, you are making the whole issue very complicated You mean we have to register all our 2.4G or the approved MHz range Tx bought from local dealers with the IDA??? Come on! All these stores have already got their approved dealer license when they imported these Tx.
