What is jet turbine? Q&A column

By starting this thread, hopefully is going to make this a common place for anybody to ask any questions 5Ws and 1H about JET TURBINE. Of course any answers are also welcome. For the benefits to those whom want to learn more!
Pls do not do brands comparsion here, strictly for knowledges sharing purposes.
Attached is the pix of first RC jet turbine, KJ-66.

Victor, about this question it depend on which and how much thrust you need on the plane.Example start from 14 lbs to 36lbs some even more can reach 48lbs to 51lbs ofcourse the price will be different too from S$4000++ up to S$8000++ but in the end of the day is up to you what you really went the choice is yours, I hope it answer your question.

Re. stall -Jet turbine works like a automatic transmission car. it wont stall!
During the start up, either a manual or auto start turbine will ramp up to 55K rpm, if it is a successful fire-up with the input of starting gas, the ECU will bring the turbine to idle stage with ard .5lbs of thrust o/p. At any events, if the rpm fall below idle stage, the turbine will cut off, as this should be signs of malfunction parts or fuel lines problem. Normally 35k rpm is the standard cutoff point if the turbine rpm go below idle rpm.
For any flyers, it is necessary setup procedure for TX to operate the installed turbine, The lower throttle stick will learned the idle stage of turbine output, and the higher throttle stick will learned the max. stage of turbine output. Therefore nothing beyond this range is attempt when throttle stick is! This logical because what you want is min o/p to stop a model or full throttle at max. o/p to lift-off a model.

              Re. overheat.
There a temp probe hooked to the rear exhaust cone of a turbine, this is to detect the o/p temp, normally operating temp is ard 550 oC to 650 oC.
Any temp higher then stated temp, it will automatic cut-off by ECU. Therefore dont touch any turbine after flight, and sometimes you will see some flyer using ext blowers to shorten cool down time.

              re. Explode.
Just have to be careful when dealing the startup gas. Fire hazards is more likely if individual are not careful. Even a fully loaded model crash during flight, fire is max it go.

Hope this ans to your questions!

              Best Regards
