Hi Zennith, thanks for your interest.

For the scale crawler and truggy, we're just gonna have a fun run around a track that we're building. Feel free to come down for it! The more cars the merrier! Will let you guys know more about the details soon.

The $5 is for the 3D Air Race competition. That's the major competition we're organizing with attractive prizes. I'll post up more details soon. Do check in this thread for updates.

Oh, by the way, forgot to include above that this event is supported by the cool people over at Team Segar.

                Air Race Rules & Regulations

Hi guys. Here are the Air Race Rules & Regulations.

                General Entry Rules
                1. All entries are to be registered latest by 5th March 2010
                2. An administrative fee of $5 will be payable for each pilot

                Plane Restrictions
                1. Wingspan of the plane to be entered should not be more than 1500mm
                2. Although profile planes are welcomed, scale planes are preferred
                3. Preferred scale models are:
                a. F3A models
                b. CAP 580
                c. Edge 540T
                d. Extra 300/330
                e. List is not exhaustive

                Race format
                1. During the actual race day, each pilot will have 3 attempts at the circuit (race runs)
                2. Average times for the 3 runs will be calculated to determine final placing
                3. Each pilot is given a total of 10 points for each circuit run
                4. Pilots will need to maneuver their planes through 6 gates set up on the field for the event without hitting any pylons
                5. Pilots are to fly at an altitude demarcated by the markings on the pylons
                6. Should a pilot hit a pylon or fly too high/low, points will be deducted from the pilot
                7. Should the total points for each race run be positive, bonus time will be deducted from the pilot’s times for each run
                8. Should the total points be negative, penalty time will be added
                9. Points are not transferrable between pilots or race runs

                Briefing & Training
                1. The aim of the training sessions is to help pilots to acclimatize to the conditions and familiarize themselves with the circuit
                2. 3 training sessions will be provided for each pilot prior to Race Day as follows:
                a. 6th March 2010 – Registration confirmation and briefing
                b. 13th March 2010
                c. 20th March 2010
                3. Pilots must attend the first session for the briefing and registration to confirm their placing for the air race

Ok, so have I missed out anything? Any comments for improvements?

Hmmm, well, to be honest, I haven't seen a nitro 3D plane. But then again, I'm still quite junior in this hobby.

I guess we can leave it open and we'll see how it goes. If we have enough participants from nitro, we may open a separate category as well.
