393 WR Racer Pylon - "Air on Man"

    Dear All,

I recently came across a new pylon designed plane and decided to venture into making this racer. Let me tell you that I have just started using balsa and this is my second project of which the "e-hots" by Dave Santisch was my first model. A remake by our local Uncle Winston of Saujana Putra.

The original plane is only a concept by Cristiano Giustozzi (Italy) and has never been made to fly. I although did take the liberty to modify a few lines and modified the design to make life much simpler. Cristiano has given me written consent to use his early design for modification. This is important to me so as to respect his intellectual property.

I also started making the smaller 15 size electric pylon in the beginning but ended up doing a 40 size. The little 15 will be completed very soon as today I managed to cover the main fuse. As for the wing, maybe tomorrow.

Below are some pictures of my plane. The specs are not for pylon racing though.

    Motor: AXI copy, 900 kv
Esc: Dynam 60 a with added BEC
Fuse: Full balsa (carbon fibre design skin)
    Wing: Balsa with monokot* sheeted
Servos: Tower Pro 9g, total 2 servos, 1 wing and 1 elevator
    Prop: APC 11 x 5
Battery: Lipo 11.1, 25c, 2150 - 2500 (differs from battery to battery). Top Edge, Rhino
    Decals: your local motor shop

For those that love to build, keep on building. Never let the ARF and the RTF flyers put you down. Always remember that "THEIR PLANES WE CAN BUY, OUR PLANES THEY CAN'T BUILD".....

after the maiden of the 15 size pylon......a very pleasing maiden I might say...very stable take off...great at turnings...slightly lacking in speed...testing the prop size as well as battery options...currently running on Rhin0 3s, 2250, 25c and 4.5 x 4.1 prop

a modified version of the original one...a sleek elevator design...and a slimmer wing.....am really pushing myself...mind you that this is my 3rd wing built....ever....been swamped with orders...have 2 more to finish...am making a new improved version for myself....

in the meantime already on my 2 new other projects of which will be maidened at Suajana Putra this Sunday...a "hots-liner".....gorgeous......foldable prop and all.....

I will also tease you with my upcoming hotliner project....its name is "rapier" .....you'll know why I named it so...
