gear ratios

Me newbie here...
Can anyone enlighten me on how to calculate the gear ratios on the gear box... ?

Count the number of teeth on the pinion.

Count the number of teeth on the spur.

Divide them.

Let's say you get 10:66

Then your gear ratio is 1:6.6

Or maybe, if you are using GWS gears, you can just look at what's etched on the spur!
