I didn't fly a DR1 before, but should be very similar to my Sopwith Triplane. Generally, these tripes are easy to fly, if setup properly. But remember to use rudder to help turning. Couple the rudder with ailerons if you have computer radio.

The only tricky part is landing, as it always have a strong tendency to nose over. Just before touchdown, hold the elevator up and give the throttle a quick burst to point the nose up a little. Hold the elevator up until the plane slows down on ground.

                  GWS wheels?

                  Hi Linhai,

If you're looking for 'about-scale size' wheels for those WW1 planes, have you considered those large nylon superlight wheels with O-ring 'tires' made by GWS? If I'm not mistaken, the same type shipped with their E-Starter and Slo-Stick(not sure 'cos I've never owned them). It will depend on whether they have the right size for your DR1/DR7. Also, you'll need to be creative with the tire, and making wheels covers.

Just a thought. Hope it helps.

You can make them out of wood, o-ring, brass tube and some card stock to simulate the fabric covering over spokes look.

                            Linhai.

Must warn you that the great planes Dr.1 is small. However, Based on the reviews overseas, it is rather easy to fly only need to reinforce the motor cage. it broke even on the review done by rcgroups. Need to glass the whole cage.
Just watch your six, ze vig brother may be diving in the suncover above or the Camel maybe biting your tail.
Go back in one piece to fly another day.
                            Having fun yet?
