    Cheap Trainer

I went to rotor.com.sg and I made a choice between two options.

    [IMG][/IMG]

The second pictures show two planes, their size is comparable to the range of FEDA or Cupid. But again I suppose wind will be a bigger issue for such small size?

I felt that they could be better than E-starter in the sense that I dunt needa build it. I am going into NS soon, wanna fly straight. They cost $70 plus minus inclusive servo and all but excluding ESC and Tx, which I already have or can acquire.

Is there anything I else I should consider between E-starter b4 my purchase?

how much you actually wanna spend on flying?

i think slow stick is a better choice.

maybe buy a 2nd hand one..
i'm a rc sotong. And i know nuts about it.

The first 1 really look interesting which look like a scale up of those indoor slowfly saw in US. On the other hand,SS is proven to be the best slowflyer around for beginner. Building time is short even for the first timer. The set back will be the need for servos, battery and electronic to complete the plane. Then again the fun factor is unlimited....

i can even bend it, till the 2 end of wing touch each other

            lol. that looks cute.

Slowstick, the one which has a big red german-like bat wing? Two versions, big and small right?

yap that is the one , if you are getting one go for the big one ..... the small one is just too weak to fly outside and easly damage ....

I would NOT recommend the Slow Stick. One problem with the SS is its poor wind handling capability. When you fly in wind, this plane can flip by itself, which will be baaaaaaaaaaaad for any new beginner to airplanes. And over here, which ever field I go to, I have never experienced constant calm wind.

Of course, if you had better conditions than me... get the Slow Stick! It's a sweet plane if you get the setup right.

Very true , the SS is not for windy condition but in clam condition it is the ideal trainer. I think a lot of members in here started off with the SS and progressively to whatever they are flying now. I have playing around with the SS for some time now. Really enjoy all the mod done to it and manage to pull off in windy condition. It is difficult if not impossible.

For stability and ability to handle more wind then the easystar will be the one but the cost is almost double...So is up to how much you want to spand and how experience you are now

Hope it helps ....BTW still enjoy flying the SS with all the mod on it

                      Loyn,

That is damn true. The SS is a wonderful plane after you learn to fly. Definitely not when the wind picks up. I had 2 SSes and it was wonderful, I had a lot of fun on it, though I haven't done any major projects, like your twinmotor SS.

                      I love SSes!

well besides slowstick u can also try beaver and wind dragon..
IMO beaver is a bit better than slow stick. it is more stable in the wind and has a stout body
                        just learning to fly

not sure about the beaver , never see one in the air before As for the wing dragon, one of our JW member use to own one .... not a real beginner plane, is fast with the 400 direct drive and control is on sensitive end. Cheap is for sure as slightly more than 100 you get everything inclusive of battery.... Oh Jhobby carry alot of its spare too...

Ahhhhh, had a total of three days of flight starting with sunday. Thanks to Mike and Frank for their patience and quick reaction to unsure that my plane came home in one piece. subsequent flying at the field near my place have already allowed me to learn some orientation, power management and landing. but must say the powerplant given really is pretty weak. or is my management still lacking significantly?

Are you flying a Slow Stick on stock power? If you are, don't worry, I find that it has a lack of power too!
