    Will my ESC burn?

    Hi all.
I just got the cessna from jet and my motor's bearing died on me while i was changing the shaft and i got a new one which is different from the stock one.
My ESC is the stock 18 amp esc and the motor specs is 1120KV 1.2A at 7.4V no load and running current is <23A. I am using a 9 X 4.5 APC prop. Will my ESC burn if i run it below full throttle?
    Thanks in advance

if u are using the ESC that was provided i do not think that it will be a problem but than again just get a new one about 30A will be good enough and u can also use it for other planes.

since u mentioned that the motor is operating <23A, a 25A or 30A will be safer.

On the other hand, if u use the 18A, u will be risking. Nevertheless, for high wing plane, if motor or ESC cuts, u will still be able to glide down for a soft landing

haha, while flying, u will never know when u will need 3/4 throttle or full throttle, especially for taking off.

if it a 18A ESC.. there should have a 23~25A burst current for a few sec it can handler.. not to long burst b4 you see a elec plane fly like a nitro
smoke came out from behind the plane

The plane has vents at the bottom of the cowling nice aerobatic show for me if that happens

                              hmmm

Adding my humble opinion... U have already spend quite a lot for this beautiful kit, y would u want to risk losing it by taking things for granted and using an esc which might make u lose yr investment? my advice is, get an esc which is sufficient for yr motor specs and fly with confidence knowing the electronics wont fail you. even if u dont blast it at full throttle, it doesnt mean that it is safe. there are lots of aspect contributing in yr amp draw. need a good example of wat happens when yr esc fail you? watch the video and look at the clip at 06:22 and u can see wat happens to my fren's cessna... hehehe
