    Airplane Question??

    Gotta a question to ask.

What is the purpose of a vertical stabilizer?

Is it to stabilize the aeroplane?

If yes, then how come the B-2 Spirit dun needs it?

    Thanks for ur inputs!

    Good Question

The vertical stabiliser is for Yaw stability. You need it for the plane to track straight.

Now the B2 has the same thing but employs a different method to achieve yaw authority, they are called Drag Rudders. The onboard computer actually makes a shitload of calculations constantly deploying the use of those drag rudders on each side of the wing to "drag" the plane straight. They are also useful for slowing down the plane and helping the plane to turn.

    Some good read for you.

Notice the drag rudder on image, it slows the plane down for landing and also helps keep it going straight.
Stop looking for a gyro in my plane, they are all in the head.
