    Newbie need help

    Hi all,

I am going to start this hobby (another one of my expensive hobbies...sigh) and I will be picking up some equipment when I am back in sg for a short visit (I am in Sweden right now).

Need a favour, can any of you experienced flyers help me pick out some RC stuff? I am totally new to RCs.

My line of thinking is :

Radio : Hitec eclipse 7 QPCM with 40mhz spectra
    Plane : E-starter, GWS P51D and GWS F4U.

Other components like RX, servos and battery packs and charges I am not sure.

    Thanks in advance.

Oh yah, a colleague of mine here ask me to get a TT Pro36 for him, dun really know where to get, can you also advise?

    Hi Fleek,

    Welcome onboard

If someone gonna fly with u, I would recommend the E starter as your first plane. If you gonna try alone, then go for slow stick instead.

I suppose you going brush motor, then you will need a ESC - GWS ICS-300

Get the Hitec Electron 6 Rx to go with your Tx.
    Servo - Go for Hitec HS-55 x 3

I propose you go Etec 2S1P w/ APACHE charger, both can get from a forum member Mack.

Think thats about all, for ESC and plane, you can check out rotor hobby or Pipps Hobby. Rx & Servo will be Rotor Hobby.

Raptor heli can get from Rotor Hobby as well. All contacts can be found in the Hobbyshop contact in the forum

      Hi All,

another newbie here... Thinking of getting the SS kit from Pips. Still the best choice for a beginner?

Btw, anyone flies in Hougang? May need help getting the plane in the air and keeping it there

Nearest site mentioned in this forum seems to be Pungol but where exactly is it?

Look in the street directory for Edgefield Plains, we're flying next to it, it's a huge grass field beside a church building.

Errr.... if someone flies with u & u r not that confident for E-Starter, try GWS beaver for more visual appeal. I maiden it today for someone which I'd built for & there is no bad habit. Otherwise...I've actually use an over-kill system for the beaver.

              Castle Creation ESC PHX35
              Brushless motor AXI 2212/34
              Prop APC 11x4.7
              Kokam 1500mah Lipo

Take-off & Landing was easy too. Half throttle u can see that it actually flew slow & steady in calm condition. However, for the above system to work well, the wing MUZ be strengthen with either carbon rod or something that holds the increased weight.

C.G(Centre of Gravity) was extremely easy to achieve as the plane is designed in such a way that there is lotsa space for u to decide where to place ur battery inside the fuselage for optimal requirement.

Using the 35 ESC is abit overkill coz got extra mahz...however will eventually switch to Jeti 18P(another extra ESC).

              * C.G is extremely important as my S/S used to be out & the flt was very terrible & difficult to trim.

If u are interested for the above system & dunno where to get it. Do PM me

Ya Arthur...once my S/S wing didn't strengthen enough & I think u saw it snapped into half in mid-air rite? So basically, the S/S wing & Beaver's wing really need strengthening else if u do stupid manouver like me, u'll sure to snapped the wing & crash. U can either get brass hollow tube from NTC, cut & bend it into appropriate angle & epoxy/filament tape it on the leading edge of the wing with carbon rods attaching to both end of the tube(like the S/S) for beaver.

Well, as for my S/S, I'd crashed it so many times until the aluminium 'fuseluge' was bended & now unflyable. However, the Himax 4200 BL motorcan be saved for other usage though.

                  Chicken dance? Or Crab dancing?
