2.2m FOX glider quick build.

Hi guys,

With the current craze with Fox hunt, I have decided to build my 2.2 m Fox. Hopefully can be completed before the season is over. Also the mini Fox is flying well, hopefully the bigger one does as well.

Data,

1) 2.2m Fox from Cassioopeia Japan-glass fuse, balsa wing (req' building)
2) servos, hs 65 for aileron , hs 85 BB for rudder and elevator and spoiler.
3) oracover and whole recipe of glues and fillers.

Started building the wings. Laser cut and fits very well. epoxy and super glue all together. Its made of 4 panels. 2 inb and 2 outb. The airfoil is semi symmetrical, as such it has an undercamber. Part of the kit was to construct wing building cradle so that it can be built on flat surface.

The construction of outer panel is straight fwd, however the inb section is not. There were 46 pieces of wood, metal and carbon components. It may well be more complicated that the real thing.

Latest update.

Completed the four wing panels...weights a bit more than the ASK-21. The craddle did a wonderful job, the panels are straight and thru.

Now its an arf kit, time to put in the electronics.

Will be starting work today after long chinese new year leave so progress may be a little slow.

Incidentally, I'm building a semi-scale version of its older brother, the Swift S-1. 1.5m span with sheeted foam core wings and balsa built-up fuselage. This quick job is meant for Sedili this weekend, and this is how far I got since I started it middle last week.

The Swift is done, at least airworthy. Today I shall maiden it. So far it weighs 20oz.
